How could I be narrow minded and stubborn if I owned both an Android tablet and smartphone for a year? Its called having a strong opinion and in my opinion non Apple mobile devices are 2nd class.

You keep saying Appleinsider should point out areas where the competition is doing better. But what exactly are these areas? Apple makes the best smartphone, phablet, tablet, laptop, and desktops. iOS is by far the best mobile operating system. OSX destroys Windows. Google services are good but it comes with the price of being data mined. So tell me Exactly where the competition is doing a better job then Apple? Please tell.

If Apple is so great why do they keep changing their i phones every 6 months or so? Making more money not caring about a consumer who saved up to buy this product to last for at least 1 year or more.

This has to be a joke comment, right?

Technology changes. Plus the phone is still operational after a year. In fact my old phone lasted 3 years. Last time I checked, Apple didnt put a kill switch on the phone to render it inoperable.

iPhones come out ONCE A YEAR.

Technology moves fast. No high tech company can risk being left behind by releasing phones every 2 years.

LOL This is hilarious. Besides writing 'i phone', he also suggests that Apple changes their iPhone every 6 months as a negative when the common pro-Samsung/anti-Apple commentary is to say that Apple needs to update their phone more than once a year if they want to compete with Samsung. I guess that is changing now that Samsung's smartphone sales are drastically dropping. Moving the goalposts as always.

Perhaps. All I know is that people have been saying that exact thing on this forum for many years now. I suppose that eventually it will be fixed.

As a matter of fact iOS 9 will even be supporting many more older devices than anybody first believed. Apple devices are truly worth the money, and when iOS 9 comes out, even people with very old Apple devices such as an iPad 2, will be able to update to OS 9! I can not say the same for other devices that are basically obsolete as soon as you get home from the store after having bought it.

A quick clarification: Tom's Guide (http://www.tomsguide.com/) is different than Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/). Same parent company, different publications. You'll see the Tom's Hardware Samsung Galaxy S6 review posted in the next few days.

Just reiterating, Tom's Guide and Tom's Hardware are two separate sites. If you have critiques about our testing methodology, we're happy to hear it, because we're always looking for ways to improve our coverage. But as far as bias goes, we have nothing to gain by promoting Samsung, or any other phone maker, and for anyone to claim that we cherry-picked results to favor a given handset is unfounded.

Our purpose was to determine what is the fastest phone you can buy right now. That's it. So for camera capture and PDF launch times, milliseconds matter, along with Wi-Fi throughput and storage speeds. Is it really surprising that the most expensive phone on the list, that's less than three months old, beat out a phone from last fall? No. If you're looking for further reading, check out this great in-depth look at the Exynos 7420 by Andrei Frumusanu from Anandtech.

In regards to Geekbench 3: multi-core performance is where the industry is headed, which is why we chose it as one test, out of many, with which to judge performance. For gaming, with Gamebench we can see that even though the iPhone 6 and GS6 both put out 30 fps on Asphalt 8, the GS6's stability was higher, which leads to smoother gameplay over an entire session. And if it wasn't for the severe throttling the HTC One M9 experiences with the Snapdragon 810, it probably would have taken that test.

We will definitely revisit this topic, featuring even more data for everyone to go over. Maybe then the fastest phone will be the iPhone 6s, Galaxy Note 5, One Plus Two, or something else entirely, but you can be sure the brand will have no impact on our decision.

How amusing, this Daniel "Dilger" comes across like a 5 year old child throwing a temper tantrum. But being named "Dilger" had to do some serious mental damage.

I checked "Dilger's" comments factually and he isn't even close to being truthful on so many points. For example, here is a QUOTE from Anandtech's review of the Samsung S6 SoC AT THE CONCLUSION:

"Ultimately, this leaves the Exynos 7420 without real competition. Samsung was able to hit it out of the park with the new 14nm design and subsequently leapfrogged competing solutions. For the near future, the Exynos 7420 comfortably stands alone above other Android-targeted designs as it sets the new benchmark for what a 2015 SoC should be."

In short, the iPhone 6 isn't even in the same league as the Samsung S6 Soc - that't simply a fact Dilger, deal with it.

Now lest you think that I am an Android fanboy, I have owned three iPhones. I still have my iPhone 5. But when Apple's CEO began shoving his extreme liberal political agenda down people's throats, I decided to switch to the Samsung S6 and overall I am glad I did.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/9330/exynos-7420-deep-dive/8

I loved Apple and WAS one of the most devoted Apple fanboys on the planet until Tim Cook made Apple a political tool to push his radical agenda.

It was a huge adjustment to switch cold turkey to an Android phone after over six years with iPhones but it was worth it. The S6 has the best display of any smartphone (by far), the best camera (only the LG 4 is in the same league) and it is CLEARLY the fastest smartphone made.

That's simply reality Dilger, deal with it.

The Galaxy S6 has been completely redesigned and it has a beast for a SoC (CPU) and 3 GB of RAM. It is highly unlikely that it will ever be slow. I have owned my for three months now and it was just updated to Android 5.1 and it has gotten faster, not slower. And BTW, iPhones slow down over time, I have owned three of them.

How about actual, real-world performance? A reasonable customer doesn't care about those numbers, they about how the system will work for them. The good comparisons compare various apps and scenarios that are either the same app by the same developer across platforms, or similar app and scenarios across platforms, usually with default and built-in solutions.

And so it appears that whoever was behind the "benchmark mode" at Samsung got a new job working at Volkswagen, and arranged some similar software for emissions testing. *headslap*

The problem is there isn't a single app in Google's store that could slow down a Samsung S4 let alone a S6 or Note 5. At this point people are just throwing their money away upgrading to the next iteration. In fact with Samsung their actually moving backwards, by eliminating the only thing that was good about their phones, removable battery and SD Card reader. When it comes to Android phones nothing is better than a One Plus Two, really, spending the extra 300 for an S6 is simply idiotic. Especially when your getting TouchWiz with that extra money, sorry but you need to pay me 300 to use it. Thank goodness Samsung phones are extremely easy when it comes to replacing the OS, if you have a S6 a aren't running CM 12.1 your missing out. You'll go from a system that utilizes over 1.5GB of RAM before a single app is even started to one that takes up less than 600mb, perfect for a phone with 3GB - 4Gb of RAM.
