What say you both that Google and Amazon charge the same exact 30% fee and have the same exact rules for linking to external store fronts?

Good point. 30% seems to be across the board when signing up via mobile device. Convenience has its costs. Maybe Spotify can get Taylor Swift to write Apple a letter asking for them to waive the fee for them.

Spotify should eat the cost, or at least some of it.

I think it's a rip-off for Apple to charge 30% every single month for hardly doing a thing!!!   If it was 30% for the first month and then the fee drop to something far more reasonable for that Automatic transaction every month, great, but it's not.   Also other companys like HBO are getting special deals of I believe 15%.

How every every time you went to the Supermarket and got something, they charged 30% on top of it!!!    Terminal transactions fee's are only in the 2-3% range.  So charging a monthly 30% is really a scam.  Eating a 2-3% fee is bad enough, but 30%?   This is why Wal-Mart has been working on CurrectC for transactions to get around the credit card company's and their  tiny transaction fee in comparison to Apple's.   30% times millions of users is a huge pile of money.  If it was a normal transaction fee they would eat it like everyone else, but 30% is not normal.

Worse of all, Apple goes out of their way to make sure you have No choice.  you have to use them, you can't even link to your own site to pay, let alone pay in the app.   It's really pretty crazy.

That's like 30% of your mortgage going to the broker every month.

It's like your retail store paying the mall a portion of your sales, which is how it works. QFT.

    I guarantee it's nowhere near 30%

So does Google and Amazon charge 30%. They also don't allow links to web sites.
