So where are the actual numbers? You can't compile such a ranking without knowing how many of each model sold.
No you don't. It's called statistics. If you take a random enough sampling of what people bought, you can extrapolate this information with a relative level of certainty.
Apple's iPhone 5s from 2013 took fifth place in June, edging out new flagships introduced by Xiaomi and LG and continuing to outsell Samsung's earlier Galaxy S5 and Note 4, both of which were introduced last year.
This put the biggest smile on my face... A phone from 2013 is still outselling the "amazing, miracle" devices that came after it, in the year 2015!!!

As my mother liked to quote:
"liar"
"Damn liar!"
"statistician!"
If your statistics are accurate you could extrapolate the actual numbers - n'est-ce pas?
Just proves that there is still demand for a 4" iPhone. Main problem is that Apple simply cannot have a large phone lineup because its having trouble just keeping up with demand. Samsung is also a manufacturer so can handle spamming hardware.
I agree. The number seem to support the claim that demand is still very strong for the 4" iPhone, and not because its with-carrier-contract price is lower. It outsold cheaper Android handsets, as well as some large-screen, "flagship" spec-whore phones.
Interesting that the iPhone 6 Plus is #2. I own one and am seriously thinking of "upgrading" this fall to the smaller iPhone 6 if battery life improves and optical stabilization becomes available. As much as I love the Plus and the screen acreage, it is a bit cumbersome. Such tough decisions between two phenomenal phones.
u still believe in mac rumours. Their news are always 100% not true... And besides all phones in the market belong to google coz google own androids. it is more like google than brand. While using apple products are 100% brand though components are supplied by different manufacturers but they designed their own OSes to work with their own hardware not like androids which are like the old Microsoft Windows System...
Lmao - I just came back from my local pub. A guy who is tech challenged (clueless) came in with a Galaxy s6 brand new in the box. A mate of his had imported 10 of them off some website - cost $200 kiwi jeez - clear that inventory Sammy !
Sony is a brontosaurus. The nerve impulses signalling it's dead just haven't reached the brain from the hindquarters yet. Sony deserves to die. I woke up and stopped buying their trash a decade ago.
Also, advertisement is telling. These guys don't get their market. At least Samsung wisely targets "let's pretend to be Apple-but-cheaper", hence the current Apple counter-ads.
I have seen many people buying "an iPhone" from Samsung, and not all of them are 80+...
And it will be interesting to see whether Apple will discount current iPhone so we will have cheap big phone. Then Android sale can erode even more. With iPhone 5s success one can expect it will be sold in same or similar incarnation one year more before Apple will bring new A8 or A9 based 4" phone.
And it is question whether Apple did mistake when was so late with big phones. It lost some sales but on other hand at Android world everybody who wanted big phone already has it. In Apple world anybody who want it have to shell still good amount of money to get it.
That was exactly what I said to the guy - until he pulled the box out of his bag.
Packaging labelling all looked legit - shrug
I'll prolly go down this arvo to see if he had any luck charging it up and if it powered on.
That's why fakes work, they copy all the details, packaging included. They wouldn't be able to fake the screen pixel density and an app that detailed the processor as an Exynos would clinch it. If it's not fake then my guess would be stolen - 'bought it off a guy down the pub'. Where have I heard that one before? I did a search and http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2522374 gives NZ$559 as the cheapest price for an S5.
For the S6, $783 seems to be amongst the cheapest prices I could find, and since that's 'available to order', I would guess they are drop shipping - which would be the most likely way the mates mate got a quantity at a low price. If one drop shipper could really get them for $200, the rest could too - and would.
If they were legit and not hot, I wouldn't mind several hundred of them, because about the cheapest they are on Amazon.de is NZ$935

Could be clones not the original ones.

Clones of copies... That's meta.

They were fake or stolen. Cool story though bro.

A cloned clone?
It didn't power on so I couldn't see what flavour of Android it was running. heh
It looked absolutely genuine - no white box. Samsung labelling.
