This is not entirely accurate. Games are available the same day at the conclusion of the last game of the day. Still not live, but way better than the following day.
Can you tell me how many days with NFL football, regular season, end in the middle of the day? There is always a primetime game that runs until near midnight Eastern time. "next day" is pretty much always the case unless you are on the West coast and want to start watching games at 10pm.
Actually, I was slightly wrong with my explanation. Here it is from the horse's mouth:
When will regular season and Postseason games be made available in NFL Game Pass?
Sunday morning and afternoon games (9:30am ET, 1pm ET & 4pm ET) are available at the conclusion of all Sunday 4pm ET games, and Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday and Saturday NFL games are available following the conclusion of the applicable game telecast. However, if you are accessing NFL Game Pass through a free trial, Thursday night games will not be available until 3 days after the telecast.
no they don't. DTV has exclusive right to air the games live. NFL just want to make extra money.
If NFL wanted to, they could revise the agreement with DTV to offer the games on AppleTV. DTV would of course want compensation of some sort, but it could be done...if the parties wanted.
The future of content provision is not is a dish on a roof.

Which is actually something I could live with IF they offered a cheaper option to just follow one team instead of "bundling" the entire league into an expensive package (same as the cable companies bundling channels). The evening and Saturday games are generally televised nationally so I have no problem getting them when my team is playing. But when my team is playing a Sunday morning/afternoon game and the local station is either playing the local team's game, some other game they deem to be of more interest to the local market, or the game slot is blacked out due to NFL rules. That's when the online option would be good, even if it meant I had to wait until Sunday night to watch it. But not at this price point.
Totally agree that the price is ridiculous. Believe me, I would never defend the NFL or DirecTV. I just wanted to clarify that you can get it the same day, just after the 4:00 ET games conclude. I probably won't buy it either... unless my Raiders are more competitive than I think they are gonna be.
