Thank you Apple for doing this so I don't have to hear whiners' fucking complaints about Safari tabs loading at least another year then the process starts over again.

Lack of RAM doesn't have to cause "slowness" to be annoying. How many times have you switched tabs in mobile Safari and had to wait for the page to reload, even though the screenshot was still good? That kind of thing drives me insane and happens because iOS ran out of RAM and had to ditch "unimportant" states.

So much this!! It isn't a matter of speed, it's having to refresh apps when multitasking. It's a damn annoyance especially when copying and pasting between apps.

I knew these phones would have 2GB RAM. Shame last years didn't.

a "shame"? not really. never had much trouble with apps not performing well. on my phone I don't have multiple important tabs up, usually just a few and occasional reloads hasn't been a problem. I think you just like to beat this drum incessantly for some reason. surely to be replaced by complaints about the amount of storage on the entry level model.

    on my phone? hardly ever.

I know people with 6 Plus that have lag issues, the phone isn't slow per se but there are UI lag issues. Even on my iPad Air 2 I still have issues with Safari tabs reloading. It's not nearly as bad as the Air 1 but it's still annoying all the same. Especially if I'm typing something on a site like this, go to another site and come back only to have the page reload and everything I typed is gone. I think complaints about not enough RAM are absolutely legitimate and I'm glad to see Apple is finally addressing them.

Yup, this is the problem I often encounter, and I don't think that it is an "out of line" complaint. But you will always have those that will push back against your comments and say "I don't have the problem so it must not be an issue" or "I know 6 dozen people with iPhone and none of them have problems."

Thank you for pointing out your narcissistic, microscopic point of view. YOUR phone hardly has issues, what about other people's phones? Some people don't have problems, some do. But I guess because YOUR phone and daily usage hardly sees problems then I guess it's not a problem Apple should be addressing. It's your world, we're all just living in it right?

One of the main problem is web pages' sizes are getting completely out of hand (they're huge)! Even with 2G or in Android phones 4G! You still won't be able to load a lot of tabs.  This has an impact on data transfer and caps too.

Mobiles can'T really cache the site in flash storage or they'll trash their storage, which means 2Gb will soon be too small too. Maybe crap web programmer could stop making their web pages utter garbage first so we don't soon need 8Gb of memory to load a few tabs on a mobile...

Good! I really hate when my Safari tabs reload constantly while I'm trying to multitask. I think 2GB will be enough for most people, at least for now. I'm curious how many more windows/apps you can have open on the iPad Pro with its 4GB of ram though.

"What?! Only 4GiB! But that's half of 8GiB. What's the point of 64-bit if it doesn't have at least 8GiB."

Two things: a 64-bit processor does not require 8 GB of RAM and a 32-bit CPU only addresses up to 4GB.

So, Apple is clearly ready for the future.

I am sure it's up to two windows at a time. The background apps will just be suspended or be granted background processing.

Then you're doing it wrong. /s

Why should power be wasted on something you are NOT using at the moment? And why are you opening so many tabs? I never had a webpage "reload" but again, that's because I don't open many tabs.

And also blame on website masters - they are adding so much junk to their websites.

I'm not sure the Safari screenshot is a good indicator of anything. I will often go to switch pages in Safari on iOS for iPhone and the screenshot will be different from the page it's currently on, even without the page reloading.
