Hi how do you mean you pay no capital gains tax ? Is this a US thing? In the uk you have to pay 28% cgt regardless of how many years you've held the shares ? Is it not similar in the US ?

No it's a UK thing if you exploit the schemes availiable. I suggest you talk to an IRA and see what you can do. Such as giving shares to your spouse to double your allowance, putting them into an isa etc.
I have avoided cgt for the last decade through use of the legal ways. As long as you don't need to liquidate a large amount rapidly it can be done.

Apple could grow profits 10% the next 10 years and still be valued less than today.  Proof is what happenned the last 3 years.

    Sept2012 - stock worth $630 billon

    Sept2015 - grew profits 45% - stock worth $620 billion

Yes the stock is under valued but the market assumes future commoditisation of the iPhone.

    Wha???  It's no longer 2012.

Everybody (every 'idiot', that is) was sure Samsung was going to Literally put Apple out of business back then, with cheap phones.

Fast forward to today: How'd that turn out? Growing profits every single quarter; yet, still have same fear??

I didn't say it was rational. however investors always assume that outsized margins reduce over time and don't take the specifics into account.
