I don't know what's going to happen, and I don't know if I'll be interested, but CBS is a big deal. They were the last major broadcast network to sign up for an app to see their shows. It's a big deal because they are, by far, the most popular broadcast network, and really, the most popular network, period.
Even if some people here don't want to watch broadcast tv for their own reasons, most people do. If CBS signs up, that's a major victory, and will promp others to do so as well.
I disagree. I think NBC is the key. They will be the hardest to sign because they are part of Comcast which will be a direct competitor to Apple's TV services.
This is the same reason CNBC constantly bashes Apple.
You gotta remember that CBS isn't part of the Hulu consortium. Which is why they have a stand alone service, and would be the first to look to sign a deal with Apple.
When I read articles on this subject, I wonder if everyone involved (author, editor, and reader) is aware that in most markets all the major networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, FOX, etc) are available in pristine HD for the monthly cost of $0.00. You do have the one time expense of obtaining and connecting a decent antenna. Put a TiVo Roamio on that input and you can DVR 4 or 6 channels simultaneously depending on which model you buy and access many streaming services. It does introduce a monthly charge (~ $15) and assumes an internet connection.
I understand why Apple would want to make a deal to carry otherwise free channels in order to simplify the TV experience. But I will not be paying $40 a month for that trivial simplification. Plus who knows if it would offer a DVR interface option.
I hope if I ask my Apple TV to "find me some funny TV shows" The Big Bang Theory isn't listed. Dreadfully unfunny show that irritates the crap out of me.
I watch it all the time. I admit it isn't as funny as some other shows, but it grows on you (me). It isn't as funny as Scrubs or Coupling (UK). I just love those two shows.
Still, I read a lot of valid criticism about TBBT. I suppose to each his own, but I can perfectly understand your reaction to the show.

Well, The Flintstones cartoon had a laugh track, as did Scooby Doo. I'm sure a lot of people found The Flintstones funny regardless of the laugh track.
I was into Atari, Nintendo, and Sega, but mostly action games like Excitebike and Mike Tyson's Punchout, and some less complicated strategy games... But I never got deep into video games like that
Sorry. I do t know what the reasons are out of the USA. We have to assume it's copyright related, and production studio related.
Yes I suspect it is. As I say, much HBO content here is on Sky Atlantic, which they stream some of through their NOW TV. I guess it partly illustrates the nightmare job Apple has rights wise. But as I said, with UK catch up provision on the new Apple TV I think HBO is the network that would make a big deal here.

That’s what the image is doing. Siri doesn’t italicize, so the emphasis on, “No, find me some funny TV shows,” doesn’t show up.

Well it’s in its 9th season so I’m guessing the problem is not with the show.
Anything other than a logical fallacy? The problem is the network executives’ and writers’ agenda.
They must have signed a deal; launched my Apple TV 3rd gen, CBS available (with AllAccess enabled). Also, M2M fashion channel and NBC added; TVEverywhere authentication is available for NBC access.

If it is in the UK I'd be grateful you showing me how to get it.

Maybe you are too old for the show?
My sister in law is 38, brother in law is 40 and they love the show. I am 39 and I abhor it!
I don't particularly care for it either. You should check out It's always sunny in Philadelphia.
