Apple on Friday confirmed that the Apple Watch will debut in India on Nov. 6, marking the first scheduled launch of the product for that month.

The company revealed the news through an update to its Indian website, but did not say which models would be available, or at what prices. Similarly, it's unclear where people might be able to buy the Watch at retail, since in India Apple sells consumer hardware only through resellers and stores-within-stores.

Today the Watch is launching in Chile, the Philippines, and South Africa, following introductions in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on Thursday.

The product has seen relatively slow international expansion since it first launched on April 24. Though the product was initially available in nine regions -- Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K., and the U.S. -- the next rollouts didn't happen until late June, and have remained sporadic since then.

In contrast, Apple is planning to have the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in 130 markets by the end of the year, even though those devices launched on Sept. 25. The iPhone is a better-established product category however, and doesn't have the luxury fashion trappings of the Watch.
