I've owned three iPhones... 4S, 5S and 6S... and I never thought the LCD looked bad.
It doesn't, because that's what we're used to, just as never thought the display was too small, the pixels not dense enough, the color accuracy not high enough, the display wasn't close enough to the glass, the iPhone was too heavy, and sorts of other changes that didn't seem as big to jump up to but would be very hard to jump back to.
Uh oh. A “dislike” button. If a post gets too many dislikes, is it automatically hidden?
I was wondering when the "Ignore" feature would turn up again because it's only a matter of time before the usual sh*t starts. But now I think I'm going to enjoy the Dislike button more.
The new Japan Display means thinner forcetouch display, will likely last 2 generation for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7s.
Therefore they are betting OLED will be used in iPhone 8 ( 2018 )

That sounds low to me, but the blue ones do have a short lifespan.
On the other hand, the phone I had before my iPhone had an OLED, and I used that sucker for ~8 years. I never noticed any dimming or color fade.
