Is that fracking gut feeling buddy; 1B+ phones with basically NO SECURITY,... But, hey, "It's overblown".. (sic)

Go google, you're so "good" at it... And god damn get the whole picture this time.

I'm praying for an ignore list so I can stop seeing your tripe once again
So where are the attacks? If it's true that there's no security where are are the reports of multitudes being infected and hacked?

Logical fallacy.  (???) Like most viruses and malware, most people don't even know they have an infected device. We don't need to see "reports" or major news stories.
IMHO Dasanman's comment doesn't qualify for any category of logical fallacy that I'm familiar with, but it is refreshing to find you're open to believing in things you can't see and can't prove. 100% serious. Typically it would be "where's the proof".

You are free to ignore those reported incidents in the wild personally. You'll have to google those reports and news yourself. Some of them originated from the banks and the police because the victims made police report.

Yup. Russians pirating apps from outside of Google Play and disabling default Android security settings to do so encountered some premium text services hidden in their "free" apps.  Articles about that. I imagine there's some Chinese users who have seen some malicious stuff too.  Seems some Apple users have had the same problem when they strayed outside the official stores haven't they?

With Google Play headed to China (finally!) early next year at least users there will have another safe option. In any event while there's been lots of articles about potential Android malware (with a number of them espousing FUD IMO), real-world reports of numerous users encountering harmful stuff outside of Asian countries has been remarkably hard to come by.

... and yeah I do know how to use a search bar.

Search harder. :-) The victims were using unmodified Android with Google Play on their phones. They are in US, Singapore, and other countries outside China and Russia. Android security was bypassed. With Play going to China, it will be the same exploit story.

Logical fallacy. Like most viruses and malware, most people don't even know they have an infected device. We don't need to see "reports" or major news stories.

Take Win XP as an example. There were countless exploits over the years that infected millions. Yet they never made the news.

Bottom line: iOS is and always will be more secure than Android. This is an absolute that can't be argued against.
I'm sure people would realize that their life savings was missing, that loans were taken out in their names, etc, etc, etc.
