Wall Streets love affair with Google is warranted.

They are growing revenue's 15%-20% like clock work. Every quarter. Year after year. Their revenue stream looks bullet proof.
On the other hand Apple is showing 10% negative revenue next quarter.

Google is trading at a forward PE of 20.  With 15% growth that is not expensive at all.
Apple trading at a forward PE of 10 is not cheap at all if it continues to have shrinking revenue.
And when Apple, every quarter previously, didn't show a dip in revenue what was the P/E? Anyway near 20, or Amazons ludicrous numbers? And that "if" is a big one, doom having been forecast for a lot of years....
It's funny, when Apple meets its numbers or even exceeds them but the stock does nothing or goes down the refrain is, Wall Street cares about the future, not the past, the good numbers were already baked into the stock price etc. Yet that doesn't seem to be the case with others. Facebook, Microsoft and Google's stock all went way up after earnings. Nobody said their good results were already baked into the stock price. That only gets said with Apple.

Being honest, Google beat WS estimates, when Apple do that it goes up too, fourth quarter beat market expectations and the stock went up.

Man as a stockholder I can't wait to see APPL blow up. New watch bands announced! A smaller iPhone like the one they just discontinued. Is this company on fire or what?

okay sarcasm aside, you can't hold a big event and announce a smaller phone and new bands. There must be more if there's an event coming.

Apple holds its big keynotes for WWDC & September / October.  Think of this event more like "spring cleaning" and tying up some loose ends.

Apple never goes up as much as other tech stocks after they report earnings. (Facebook was up like 12% the day after their earnings). And often times Apple comes right back down. The last time I remember Apple getting a huge bump after earnings was January 2012 (that was the 1st quarter of the 4S).

I agree it seems like there needs to be more. Maybe new Macs and Apple's just keeping a tighter lid on that?

If Apple wants to replace it's iphone 5S and also same time help those on 4S/5/5S to move to newer similar size iphone because of their preference than has no choice but release few months earlier than iphone 7 launch. What's point of clobbering Fall iphone 7 event with smaller iphone 5SE unless iphone 5SE has the same internals as iphone 6S or 7..

I bought a 5s when the new big phones were announced. My contract runs out in April. I have to imagine there were a lot of folks like me who wanted the small phone... all coming off their contract right now. That doesn't seem like a mistake to me. Seems shrewd timing.

How about a 4" Apple Watch instead, Gene? I know, I know... I shouldn't give him any free ideas.

Yes, you're somehow right, when they was growing 100% YoY they went up big the next day, but as the trend is longer the fears get bigger the growth after a beat became more difficult. I get the point that in services the growth limit is difficult to see, because they are intangible and recurrent, but they got it for sure. So you will see the same pattern sooner or later in those companies too. But you ever must have in mind the "Without Jobs Apple is doomed" crap, is BS. But there must be a long period of time before it can shake off the handicap. But if they prove the market that they can keep on growing and reducing their reliance on iPhone for revenue, it will work over time.

To finish let me tell you a story, soon after Jobs dead, a banker friend of mine called me totally scared telling me to sell fast because Apple was doomed without Steve, he also added that no company could growth its value bigger than that, because the market cap was huge. Even now is around double the moment the guy gave me the advise, he was honest, but wrong, an he is a risk manager from one of the biggest banks in Europe.

John Paczkowski at Buzzfeed is also reporting a March 15 event. I think you can pretty much take it to the bank at this point. But I still have to believe there's something the rumor mill doesn't know. An upgraded 4" phone, new iPad Air and new Watch bands seems awfully thin for an event. Unless Apple is hosting it on campus with just a small number of reporters invited.

9 to 5 mac also said that it can be an online reveal, without any event at all.

"As the scheduled event is still a month-and-a-half away, the date could conceivably still shift or turn into an online announcement. The media event would be Apple’s first since September, and much like the fall event, is planned to touch on three major product categories for the company."

To be sure we can wait for Jim Dalrymple and John Gruber confirmation. Jim is usually the sure bet.

Except for those who want the smaller form factor but would still like a flagship device that's not 18 months behind.
Exactly,  I have two 5S phones.   I don't see any reason to upgrade to something only 6 more months better.
They should do a 6S mini with a A9 chip and 2GB RAM for %550
If they need cheap then do a polycarbonate 6c -  but be willing to go down to $300 off contract price.

    1) No one but AppleInsider really, actually thinks it will be called "iPhone 6c" despite plugging it in every single article on this site.

    2) How many times do we have to look at that ridiculous render (also placed on every story of this type) of the Android-esque iPhone that will literally NEVER happen.
Why is it androidesque? Do you believe the home button will stay forever?

Today's rumors say it uses the A9. I would be very pleasantly surprised if that's true and that would be an automatic buy for me.

It makes sense to me, but then I'm just a DogCow.  Definitely looking for a Product Red phone, at some point, and I like the small size.  I see no reason for Apple to wait a year.  In  fact, there was some discussion of Apple going to a twice-a-year update cycle, just because they can do it, and leave their copiers in the dust.

Actually Apple stock has fucking gone down on just about any positive news, new releases in the past several years.
    It's almost a joke.
Last years they beat guidance by a mile and it was meh (because those POS analyst had moved the goalpost at the last minute to make it meh)
So, stop pulling crap out of thin air to justify what really can only be justified by psychology and not company fundamentals.

Google had a fracking PE much higher than Apple 3 years ago when Apple was about to make 150B in profits in the next 3 years, that's the facts Josu.
So, you've can spare you're weak sauce analysis; it's the same crap Wall Street dribbles every year about Apple.

    I'm just tired of it.

The fact is that very high PE companies crash way way way more often than lower ones; more even than their risk profile would entail.
But, hey, this time is different.... I've lived through the god damn dot.com era and I've heard these idiocy before.

It's almost certain to use the A9, though maybe a slightly underclocked one compared to the 6s one (to save battery life).
No 3d, that's certain. Wouldn't be surprised if it has 2Gb but it is not certain.

So I was confirming login issues with a friends iPhone 5 today and after owning the iPhone 6s for a couple months the 5 literally felt microscopic. It was a very weird feeling, almost as if I were on LSD or something lol I guess if people want a smaller screen, there is a market, she has no desire to go bigger but did mention the lag was starting to nag.

A smaller phone is NOT a smaller announcement. If you watch some movies from the 80's you can see what a ridiculous joke those brick size cellphones of that era were. It was considered a great advance every time some company was able to announce a smaller and usually better phone. Eventually they got too small for most people's hands as was possibly the case for the original iPhone. Since the iPhone is really a handheld computer that happens to have a cellphone app it made sense to make it larger so the computer functions were less constrained. Also in some markets there was obviously pent-up demand for even larger iPhones. Apple wisely responded with even larger phones but for many of us they harked back to the early oversized phones that required two hands to operate.

Now there is pent-up demand for a 4 inch iPhone with current technology. For many of us larger definitely does not mean better for a handheld computer. If Apple really does announce a 4 inch iPhone in March we will see in the market just how big a deal that will be. I know I will jump on it.

Sorry Gene adding new band options to the existing watch doesn't make it an 'S' model. 'S' models are mostly internal changes and none of the rumors suggest new SiP for the watch.

If they hold an event for a 4-inch phone and watch bands then I think it will be time to call it a day. Hoping to see the new laptop line, and no impromptu comedy skits from young Mr Cue.
