TestFlight gets support for iOS 9.3, watchOS 2.2 betas
Apple on Thursday released a new version of the TestFlight iOS app, adding support for iOS 9.3 and watchOS 2.2, both of which are still in beta form.
The update, v1.3.2, otherwise makes "minor stability and performance improvements," according to Apple's release notes. The download is free and runs on any device with iOS 8 or later.
TestFlight allows users to try out pre-release versions of iOS, watchOS, and tvOS apps, so long as people are invited by an app's developer. Today's update should let developers better prepare for iOS 9.3 and watchOS 2.2 once the completed versions are ready.
iOS 9.3 is in both public and private beta, while watchOS 2.2 is still developer-only for the time being. It's uncertain when the finished code will be out, but a possible deadline is Apple's rumored press event on March 15.
In November Apple doubled the cap on the number of testers developers can invite to 2,000. It simultaneously doubled the maximum beta length to 60 days, a period more in line with Mac or Windows betas.
