I'm not prone to dropping my SE, and I remember how much I enjoyed the design of my (dearly departed) Air 2's leather smart case.  Apple's SE leather case was a no-brainer.  (The navy looks great with the gold, too.)

OTOH, I've grown to hate OtterBox over the years... After the 1st-gen Commuter, they changed materials, and not for the better (no longer as grippy).

Where the heck is the Tech21 case? Even my local Apple Store says it's the best case around. Definitely should have been included in the article.

I too really like the Tech21 case on my 5S - best case of the many I've had.  I've also really liked Spigen iPhone cases.

I'm surprised that not even one of the watertight cases on the market made this lineup. LifeProof asserts that their 5/5S case is also compatible with the SE: https://www.lifeproof.com/en-us/iphone-5-5s-se/fre-for-iphone-5-5s-se-case/lpfr-apl-iph5-5s.html?int=lp-hmpg-prod-section-prod3-71
