183) Macintosh 128k with original Apple ImageWriter, tote bag, and external floppy (Dad pre-ordered it six months before release; still has System 1.0(!); still works great (one minor bug with it not wanting to display the icon for the start-up disk) )
184) Macintosh Plus (yup . . . this has some System 2.x on it . . . sadly, its in the garage. I took this sucker apart and never decided to put it back together)
185) PowerBook 165 (me and my friend destroyed the case trying to get inside it w/o the required allen wrench)
186) PowerMacintosh 7300/CD (in the crawl space, nicely set-up on some used carpet on top of the dirt . . . it was going to be the computer for me when Y2k hit . . .
187) iMac rev. A (got it a day after its release . . . it was the first computer truly my own) (Oh, and also: Does anyone think it wouldnt be OK for me and by friends to ceremoniously burn the Apple USB mouse? I realise that the plastic fumes wouldnt be good, but . . its just so small . . . and, of course, it would be done outdoors . . . oh God . . . the one Apple product ever created that I would just like to take flames to . . each and every last one of them (although, it really is that bad) )
188) iMac CRT 700 MHz snow (My current baby; my dad took the old iMac . . . he doesnt have much need for any technology post-1990. This is, of course, a good thing (well . . for me, at least . .
BTW . . . if I could say so myself, Apple got the CRT iMac right, finally, in the end . . . I LOVE this thing . . . its perfect . . . . even in spite of the cheap-ass hard drive Apple stuck in it
(Edit: forgot to number them there Macs o' mine )
Rev. C, I do believe (January 1999)? Someone can probably confirm that. They were unveiled at MWSF 99, along with the blue & white G3 tower.
A & B were the original Bondi ones (I THINK - not 100% sure - rev. B had a VRAM increase and something else)
rev. D, not quite sure. Maybe a small tweak to the fruit models?
rev. E was the slot-loading iMacs, in October 1999 (still in fruit colors - plus graphite - but a slightly reshaped body and glossier plastics...and no metal shield...you could see all the way through them).
I'm PRETTY sure on that rundown (might have my "D's" and "E's" off a bit, but that's the basic gist of it.
Those models went all the way from October 1999 to July 2000, when the fruit colors were dropped and the Indigo, Ruby, Sage and Snow colors unveiled at MWNY.
I've been following this thread and I've been constantly adding to a list of every computer people here have. So here are some interesting figures:
The most popular processor type of Mac (68k, PPC, G3, and G4) is the G3, with 67 G3-equipped computers mentioned in this thread. The second most popular is 68k, with 65. G4s are third, with 36, and pre-G3 PPCs are last with 32.
ANOTHER EDIT: Now I realize that some G3s have been upgraded to G4. There are at least three such computers AFAIK. Therefore, the maximum number of G3-equipped computers is 64, and the minimum number of G4s is 39. So the 68k is in fact the most common processor (duh, they're cheap).
iMacs are by far the most popular line of computers, beating all other lines by at least ten (there are 35 iMacs). Second most popular line was the pre-G3 PowerMac line, though my classification was somewhat subjective. Pre-G3 PowerMacs number 25.
The most popular single computer is the tray-loading iMac (rev. A-D), with 16. Because highly specific classifications, such as which revision it is, are rarely provided by the poster, I lumped iMacs into tray-loading, slot-loading, flat panel, and eMac categories. I believe the most popular revision would be rev. B, if I went through and tried to count it up as best as possible. The second most popular computer was the dual-USB iBook, with 14.
EDIT: Excluding specialized categories such as pre-Macs, clones, Newtons and servers, the least popular category is the Duos, with only five.
