Apple confirms plans for World Trade Center store in New York City
Apple is preparing to launch another New York City store in the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, the company's head of marketing for New York stores revealed on Thursday.
Jason Barlia shared the news at a media preview of the company's new Brooklyn location, which officially opens on Saturday, CNET reported. Little other information is known except that the shop will sit under the "Oculus," a domed structure sitting a block away from the main part of the World Trade Center.
The World Trade Center could be a particular lucrative area for an Apple Store, given its presence in New York's financial district and of course traffic generated by the One World Trade Center tower.
New York City has one of the densest concentrations of Apple Stores anywhere in the world. There are six on Manhattan Island alone, with still more in other boroughs and surrounding areas. This is owing not just to the wealth and population of the city itself but a high influx of tourists.
