I'm hoping no Pro line either, I'd love to see the Smart Connector more ubiquitous across these devices. More devices that sport it means more 3rd party peripherals taking advantage of it, meaning more choices and options for connectivity.
I'm anticipating the day when your main computer is the one in your pocket, and a dock on your desk allows you to connect it to larger screen, keyboard, etc. when you need it, but all the computing power you require is in your hand, that's going to be very cool. The tech is largely there, we just need the infrastructure to support it, and that starts with this connector on more devices, not fewer (expensive Pro) lines only.
Isn't the iPad kind of that any way. It seems kind of backwards to me to try and turn the iPhone in the do it all device

What I mean is that the iPhone has the same internals and same capabilities as the iPad and if you connect it to peripherals via its own Smart Connector it'd be able to do the same thing as the iPad connected to the same peripherals, why not allow the device in your pocket to do what it can do, same as what the iPad can do? history shows us the sale decrease from 6 to 6s. Also the market is more competitive than ever, China's got their own brands they heavily sell there, there are many that are fed up with apple and lust for other beautiful phones (I'm one;), and people less likely to upgrade in great numbers
Well, real history also shows that there is always sale decrease from [x] to [xs] series which has nothing to do with demand but more about the 2 years contract that is still the standard everywhere else in the world. AND recent statistic shows the number of people that switch from other "uglier" phones to iPhone is increasing. And LAST ONE, logic dictates that, the potential of switch increasing is higher from other "uglier" phones to iPhone just because of market share. The flow will always come from higher volume to lower volume.

And in case my point is uncleare I strongly disagree with the view that IF apple ever integrates the SC to the iPhone that it's purpose should be to as suggested connecting to screen keyboard and other such desktop peripherals, this is completely backwards because it would mean that unless you had an iPhone with a SC the desktop peripherals on the desk are quite useless on theire own as the"ll need an iPhone to work imagin an office situation everyone on tha office would have to own an iPhone to use a work computer the SC works so beautifully with keyboards connected via SC because it's basically a big monitor .
