Neither of them are final, since Apple doesn't have to put all the symbols on the bottom any longer. Lousy mockups.
When did that change? My IP6 still has them.
Just after that, they got permission to put them in software. Go to Settings > General > Regulatory.

I'm hoping no Pro line either, I'd love to see the Smart Connector more ubiquitous across these devices. More devices that sport it means more 3rd party peripherals taking advantage of it, meaning more choices and options for connectivity.

I'm anticipating the day when your main computer is the one in your pocket, and a dock on your desk allows you to connect it to larger screen, keyboard, etc. when you need it, but all the computing power you require is in your hand, that's going to be very cool. The tech is largely there, we just need the infrastructure to support it, and that starts with this connector on more devices, not fewer (expensive Pro) lines only.
Isn't the iPad kind of that any way. It seems kind of backwards to me to try and turn the iPhone in the do it all device
The iPad doesn't fit in my pocket. Do you have a problem with the concept? What I mean is that the iPhone has the same internals and same capabilities as the iPad and if you connect it to peripherals via its own Smart Connector it'd be able to do the same thing as the iPad connected to the same peripherals, why not allow the device in your pocket to do what it can do, same as what the iPad can do? They don't need *to turn* the iPhone into this type of device, it is already that kind of device, all it needs is the Smart Connector (which many leaks have shown at least one version to have). Backwards? What?

How exactly would you power these peripherals the iPhone can barley power its self. And yes I do have a problem with the idea and it's this . Using your iPhone as the do it all reverses the vision behind its creation by basically turning the iPhone into a pc you connect external screens and keyboards. The iPhone isn't actually that "kind of device" because guess what that's the reason apple created the iPad

they look pretty real. I doubt they will sell as many of these new phones since they look almost the same as 6/6s.
as many as what? As many as the 6? As many as the 6s?

I think they will sell more phones than the 6s for sure.
I'm not sure if more than the 6, because there was huge pent up demand for a larger iPhone.
Agreed, reaching 6 numbers is unlikely.. However, I think beating 6s numbers is very likely

Are you not familiar with the Smart Connector? Do you not think that Apple has put some thought into this problem you suggest, that you're the only one who came up with it? And you have a problem with a device progressing? That's *your* problem, you don't have to use it as some would, luddites are abundant in the world, I'm sure you could all gather together and lament the transformation of devices and their usage from their original specifications. Seems a strange thing over which to get one's panties all wadded up, though, to be honest.

Sounds like you did the same extensive research Apple did when determining customer buy-in.
history shows us the sale decrease from 6 to 6s. Also the market is more competitive than ever, China's got their own brands they heavily sell there, there are many that are fed up with apple and lust for other beautiful phones (I'm one;), and people less likely to upgrade in great numbers
Well, real history also shows that there is always sale decrease from [x] to [xs] series which has nothing to do with demand but more about the 2 years contract that is still the standard everywhere else in the world. Real history also shows that there is always sale increase from [xs] to the new [x] series. AND recent statistic shows the number of people that switch from other "uglier" phones to iPhone is increasing. And LAST ONE, logic dictates that, the potential of switch increasing is higher from other "uglier" phones to iPhone just because of market share. The flow will always come from higher volume to lower volume.

To be honest, Smart Connector on iPhone is beyond stupid. Why would Apple want to implement something that won't be used by most device owners? And the question is: what's the benefit? Remember that Apple design really follows Dieter Rams' principals and 1 of those is Usefulness.

Are you kidding? I think it's brilliant and will be very useful. The Smart Connector allows connection to keyboards today, but tomorrow will allow connectivity to monitors and other peripherals. These devices are so powerful that you could drop it into a dock on your desk and it will connect to a larger monitor and keyboard and any other peripherals that might be useful in a desktop situation, including perhaps even a trackpad. These devices could replace the desktop for the vast majority of users who only need internet surfing, email, word processing and other tasks they already perform on a phone but would benefit from connectivity. This is Apple's version of Microsoft's Continuum feature, which is actually very cool (though not nearly so elegant as Apple's will be).

Carrying a desktop computer in your pocket, now that's the future, it only requires (because these devices are so fucking powerful today) a bit of connectivity. Beyond stupid? Really, is that how you characterise it? Well, if you still think so, you're free to continue thinking so, but the world will be using this Smart Connector to great benefit, your choice of course if you insist on refusing - you don't have to use it, but it's not stupid for those of us that will.

Most ridiculous comment ever like connecting you're smartphone to a screen is useful. The only way that could wok is if phones put out more processing power than they need so just people can plug them into their desktops, any intelligent person would quickly realize that it's much simpler and cheaper to just have an actual self powered desktop this neandathalic concept basically suggests turning smart phones to CPU carries which sounds smart but is dumb to epic proportions something that should be left to Goog or Sammy. I dought the SC will ever be able to even support the bandwith nesessary to run such a task. I think most actually don't get what could be possible with the smart connector. Picture this, you have a lamp with a base that has many tinny connectors that can align and induct with the SC on iPhone or iPad now when you go to bed just lay you're iPhone on its back on the base of you're bedside lamp and wake up wit a fully charged phone no need for bulky inefficient magnetic charging which aren't bad but compared to something that can directly connect to circuitry of a device might not b that superior, many devices can be supported at once and can seamlessly integrate with users lives.

Most unimaginative comment ever, it's amazing a blog focussed on rumours and interesting new tech is filled with the most uncreative minds around, and then to run around offending everyone that has the audacity to imagine how things might be is staggering to say the least. "Any intelligent person," give me a break, think quite highly of yourself I see, and run around calling everyone else stupid? Have you seen Microsoft's Continuum feature in action? Do you know what it's all about? Do you see any parallels, or has your lack of vision blinded you to this?

Is this how you imagine a discussion forum taking place, where other people post things and you run around criticising them for things you don't understand? Do you think offending people is how discussion occurs, is that what you were taught? I guess for those that view discussion forums as opportunities to declare their self-superiority to others, AI and others like it are godsends. Good find this forum, good find for you.

The future is going to slap you in the face hard if you keep up with that luddite attitude, refuse to embrace, fine, but don't blame me if the world laughs at your ignorance and refusal to understand progress when it happens. Welcome to AI, what a great addition to the forum we have in you.

Oh please I've offenders no one maybe you might want to keep some of those imaginations to you're self if you don't want any one commenting on their flaws. Contrary to what you may think I find the SC to be quite innovative as most apple tech is what Im questioning is YOU'RE take on what apple should do with the technology which to "say the least" is quite moronic and the fact that instead of defending you're thoughts which are deservingly being bashed as they should that is what discussions occur those who cant raise logical points get all personal. No one called you stupid as that is unnecessary. Clearly you're the one who doesn't understand if Microsoft continuum features are so great why then are they struggling to sell their devices you clearly think "discussion means agreeing with what ever is being said for the sake of avoiding conflict . AI is a discussion forum not for irrational rant about knowing what the future holds nether you nor I work at apple so no one really knows what they are going to do all we can do is offer what we think And if others disagree that ok its no reason to go on a rant as though our thoughts on the future of the ever changing tech space are infallible and cannot be opposed PS: thanks for the warning about the future I'll be watching out for that slap And BTW I do think highly of my self because I love meeeeeeeeeeeeeee that's what I was tought

You really are full of yourself and living in your own little world, aren't you?! Real pleasant peach this forum has in our new member, you.

Hope you enjoy your stay at AI, I'm sure given your propensity to promote discussion, and by discussion I mean opportunities to shut down any discussion with your lovely little discourse promoting comments such as "any intelligent person would quickly realise..." and "most ridiculous comment" and "neandathalic" (though not sure what the hell that means as it's not a word). If you want to discuss something, you need to work at it. If you didn't understand what I meant or why I thought something the easiest thing to do would be to ask what I meant or why I said something, but disengaging one's brain allows one simply to believe he knows everything and has all the right and the only answers and anyone else must be stupid to think something different from you. Amazing how it works, that you're always right, huh?!

Rant, rant, rant, you overused that little word a couple times too many and I'm not convinced you even know what it means (though in a world of 140-character entire conversations, a paragraph must appear long-winded to some), so I will stop here before I overrun my word allowance and be wrongly accused again of ranting. Thankfully, I don't need to rant, your posts speak volumes of arrogance and conceit for themselves such that I don't need to call attention to them in either a passioned or impassioned way.

And in case my point is uncleare I strongly disagree with the view that IF apple ever integrates the SC to the iPhone that it's purpose should be to as suggested connecting to screen keyboard and other such desktop peripherals, this is completely backwards because it would mean that unless you had an iPhone with a SC the desktop peripherals on the desk are quite useless on theire own as the"ll need an iPhone to work imagin an office situation everyone on tha office would have to own an iPhone to use a work computer the SC works so beautifully with keyboards connected via SC because it's basically a big monitor .
