Galaxy Note 7 reviews are dropping today and from the ones I've seen so far it's getting really good reviews, probably the best reviewed phone of the year so far. Joanna Stern at the WSJ says it's the best Android phone she's ever used (and she did a video review with the phone completely underwater).
I played with it for a several minutes and it is very impressive. The hardware design, built-in software and waterproof are absolutely "wow-factor". But I already invested hundreds dollars worth of iPhone apps and there is no way I am going to switch over and starting all over again. Also I find Android OS is so unintuitive and unnecessary complicated to navigate.
Wasn't Cook just in China (and India)? Is he going there every month now? I can't wait to see the fruits of all these R&D centers Apple is putting up. Maybe a few years ago Android phones were mostly garbage but not anymore. I want Apple to start kicking ass again like we all know they can.
But....its still running Android. Trying to fix the woes of Android is like polishing a giant turd. The software is where its at, not the hardware. I've used both and I think iOS still runs circles around Android at many things.
Though Google working on it's new Magenta OS makes me wonder if they haven't decided they know how to start over and fix their mistakes.

India. But I don't think it's weird for Cook to be in China this time around doing some kinds of promotions before 7 released, at least he is hands-on. Galaxy Note 7 is good, but does not deserve the attention it gets from the reviewers. Just because all other Android phones were mostly crap, a phone that cost similar if not more expensive than iPhone, would do better. iPhone is its own class, with its own OS, and its own ecosystem. Reviews change nobody's opinion though. People who loves Apple will keep iPhone, who hates Apple will keep non-iPhone, and who are on fence will switch to iPhone eventually.
