[quote] Apple has a trademark on iPicture. It was registered in Sept. of 2000 though...

Which gives them a little over a year to make iPicture. The iPod took nine months didn't it. A digital camera would be more advanced then the iPod but they could do it in a year and a half couldn't they? I bet on iPicture software at MWSF followed by iPicture hardware at a special event (or at MWNY).

Personally I favour some form of software comparable to iTunes but for digital photographs makes a lot of sense. Downloading of images, sorting, rotating, cataloging, slide show etc... Image capture is half way there but not quite yet even with apple scripts.

Guess the biggest problem is the firewire on iPod as storage device ( because you want to be able to d/l images onto the iPod as portable stoprage device) and MOST digital cameras only USB...? Any way to convert USB to firewire port without external power supply etc?

What you want is a small storage device that can play continious slide show ( similar to OS X screen saver with fade etc) to flat screen mounted on wall [pictureframe] like a picture. The big gap with digital is that the images remain constrained within a camera or computer. Why not have low energy screen with small storage device like iPod you can remove and update/ change 'playlist' likeslide show... then pop back in. Also playing QT etc with sound... Perhaps automatically updated via airport or similar / wireless from Mac or even camera/ iPod

Why does that one iCam say iPod on the side?

Anyway, I'd like to see a camcorder with the firewire capturing directly to FW HD, - even iPod-ish one.

I think I'm getting slow in my old age...

    It IS an iPod.

The iCam snaps on and draws power from the iPod and dumps video and images to it's hard drive.
