All written by misogynistic white men. Of course they're going to write something that proves them right and everyone else wrong.
Yes, “The Patriarchy™” is so all-powerful that it deigned to give voting rights, family supremacy rights, legal supremacy rights, and economic supremacy rights to women. Because… uh… they… SHUT UP YOU SHITLORD SEXIST AND FIGHT THE FUCKING PATRIARCHY!

    Of course.

And they just handed those things out without a fight, or were they won in hard fought battles?

You completely and utterly misunderstand. And yes, it was without a fight.

Fire all of these special snowflakes and disgusting lunatics with mental issues that get triggered by every slightest thing.

SJWS are among the weakest and most pathetic breed of humans to have ever existed.

SJWS should never be hired in the first place, if one is looking for good and productive employees that will actually excel at their jobs.

That's funny, I read that executives took action - which suggests the complaints had merit.
Not that I agree at all with Apple ][ or his extreme, predictable views, but just because action was taken, it does not necessarily mean that complaints had merit.

PS- Ok, I just read that chat log. What the fuck? The guy posted some song lyrics , this woman then freaked out and lectured him about feeling unsafe. He apologized profusely multiple times, and the next day she emails cook basically claiming that her life is in danger.  She's given a month off, comes back, and acts like a victim again. Sorry, but all signs point to this person just having some vindictive complex, wanting to cause trouble and get people fired, and was in no way in a "toxic" environment. She made a fucking mountain out of a mole hill, needed a month to "recover" from the "trauma" of seeing some lyrics to a popular song, then just kept milking it when she got back. THAT is what creates a toxic environment, with everyone else on the team being terrified that they're gonna get if they breathe or look at her the wrong way, or post some meme.

I seriously can’t tell if this article is satire. The woman “Danielle” sounds like a complete narcissist who absolutely refuses to accept a sincere apology multiple times, climbs leaps and bounds above the chain of command to the CEO of the company, gets a month paid leave, and comes back expecting what exactly? Did she want the whole department fired, or just to be appointed to head of the department on her return?

This is not a toxic work environment, but I do believe she is a toxic employee that would likely spread her BS grievances to anyone within earshot. I hope they fire her, but in our society she will probably get millions in a settlement as the result of her behavior.

Yep. From those emails this definitely sounds like someone to CREATES a toxic environment, and lowers the morale of everyone around them. Her escalation was not needed, since the guy apologized and promised to never do it again, even thought he in no way, shape, or form attacked her directly or indirectly. But, she kept going with her perceived slight wanting to harm everyone around her.
Please read more detail about the event. Her reaction was seemingly out of proportion to the situation... to those of us not suffering PTSD from having been raped already prior in our lives. PTSD is a serious issue. It is a biological survival response. Fight or flight. Hyper-vigilance. It's not a character flaw. It's also, sadly, not something that a person can switch off at will. That's why it is considered a disorder.

Barring people from the workplace because they have a PTSD trigger that causes panic isn't the solution (unless they're a risk of harm; that's probably not the case here). The immediate solution is to work with all parties involved in the situation and attempt to de-escalate everyone's emotions. The guys in the chat did apologize, but it was too late for the woman's PTSD. It's a difficult situation to be in, but the real villain here is the person who raped her, leading to her PTSD. The long term solution is for men to stop raping and assaulting women, our culture to stop being so pre-emptively hostile to each other (Internet culture seems to promote this behavior, as we can see with our special little napalm snowflake geek bros on this forum), and for our country to stop sending our soldiers to fight non-defensive wars.

This comment is not addressed to any specific comment but to the moderators of this board.  Are you aware that this community is getting less enjoyable for the people who follow what is commented here?  I can only give you a comment from my own perspective, but I believe that letting people say things on a board that they would never say in public without the bad excuse of being drunk to explain their lack of decency needs to stop.  I guess I will end my now much less regular following of this board if this continues.  The personal attacks, and trolling is really old.  Hasn't anyone figured out how to make any website fun, enjoyable and simply polite?

I've addressed this before to zero response from the site moderators. There are two regulars here that have a particularly long history of being extremely intolerant, hostile, and outright abusive to other community members. Their behavior results in presenting themselves as misogynists, racists, and bigots. The moderators have not banned them. I've even spotted one of them elsewhere on the Internet, spewing the same antisocial hate. Either the moderators think that these guys aren't in serious breach of forum rules, or they agree with the antisocial politics and the vitriolic & unhinged hostility of these individuals (or they find these guys to be hilariously dysfunctional and enjoy witnessing the the car crash and fallout). I have sometimes avoided the comments here for similar reasons, but then it occurred to me that letting the decent people get driven away by the hostile and uncivil people is really the wrong outcome for producing a sane and civil society. Bullies will always win when others let them control the sandbox.

Looking at the comment voting here, however, it seems that the "community" is in alignment with these antisocial posters. It's at 5 to 1 with some posts. That means this is not a community I want to be a member of. Maybe I should write it off and never come back. If Apple Insider doesn't want the readership of people like me, then so be it, but I would really rather hear it from them.

Either this is an indictment of the populous of Apple Insider commentators/readers, or it's an indictment of the culture this forum's participants (and moderators) come from. In either case, Apple Insider seems to have taken a hands-off stance. This is why we have this society: hostility and bigotry/sexism is tolerated.

If you permit it, you promote it.

You demonstrate your ignorance of PTSD by presuming there's any choice in the matter for a PTSD sufferer. Do some sincere research. Go visit a PTSD support group. Since this story is about sexism, I suggest you attend a rape survivor support group. I also suggest you attend it silently and LISTEN.

Much ado about nothing. If you are so hyper-sensitive you shouldn't be working. Take whatever your new slave master - democrat party overlord - throws your way and be happy.
Who the hell are you or anyone else to decide how someone should feel?
You can feel however you want. Just don’t assume your feelings take precedent over everything else and must be kowtowed to.

rape is okay if you want to have sex
For fuck’s sake, do you have any fucking idea what sarcasm is?! Holy fucking shit. You’re not even FUNNY if you’re joking here.

Was just reading about this cop who confronted a man who had raped when she was eight and he said that she had wanted it and he was actually being good to her. Seeing it is you Tallest Skil though I userstand you are not too bright and probably it was a good faith effort at sarcasm on your part. Don't get offended, that was sacrcam too!

There’s actual PTSD and then there’s “time to grow the fuck up”. You insult every actual sufferer when you treat the latter like the former.

I saw this video recently about some girl on a Canadian college campus that got triggered because another student had the audacity to wear a red MAGA cap. What an outrage! How despicable! How deplorable!

The wishes of the mentally disturbed, like that girl, should be mocked and never listened to. It would be hilarious if every single student on that campus showed up for class wearing that same red MAGA cap. It would serve her right.

These fascist liberals have no right to dictate what others can do or wear, and they deserve nothing short of a smackdown.

Nice to see the usual suspects attacking the victim. Apparently a work place where rape jokes are allowed or similar actions is perfectly acceptable. Instead of saying actually no we don't want that here it's get another job snowflake!
The lack of empathy or the slightest hint of humanity is OK for them. Just accuse everyone of being "social warriors" or liberals because otherwise they might have to grow up.  I would say would they be happy with their wives, GF's or daughters to be constantly exposed to that behaviour but alas theyou probably would.

This post actually explains a lot about your constant attempts at abusive bullying behavior on this site. I hope that you go get help instead of the frothy rants and raving and cursing here.

If you're a PTSD sufferer, I empathize with the experience. But that doesn't mean that you have the right to decide who else's PTSD is legitimate or not. Like I said earlier: go sit in on a rape survivor group for a few weeks and just listen.

The irony of fascist-leaning people, screaming unhinged vitriol against people different from themselves on Internet forums, making demands about what other people should and should not feel, mocking people for their vulnerabilities, calling for such people to be emotionally abused en mass, and at the same time crying about some made-up mystical "liberal fascism"... Do you even have a mirror?

I'm sorry if you have so much difficulty understanding or coping with human emotion. It must make the outside world very frustrating and difficult for you. I'd direct you to empathy training but you make it quite clear that you have zero openness to learning anything about human behavior, socialization, or yourself from people that aren't you. I sincerely hope you find your way some day.

A combat veteran could be a PTSD sufferer and therefore triggered by messages about Syria, Iraq or even a video game. If the other poster on the message board didn't know then he can't be held responsible, and should apologise and not do it again. I've already said that these internal message boards should be work only though.

Heres the the odd thing. This internet meme on its own isn't clearly about rape. I would have no idea. To know it was about rape you would have to have known the you tube video. So what or when was the trigger?

Your comment had me go do some research on the numbers. Unsurprisingly, you are again incorrect in what you try and present as
fact. The claim is not 1 in 5 women attending college. According to NSVRC.org, 1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men in the US will be raped at some point in their lives.  Read the full breakdown here: http://www.nsvrc.org/sites/default/files/publications_nsvrc_factsheet_media-packet_statistics-about-sexual-violence_0.pdf
And there is nothing laughable about it.
