    New iMacs?

    Read this which I found on <a href="http://www.digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article.asp?IR=N&datePublish=2002/06/27&pages=09&seq=057"; target="_blank">Digitimes</a>

[quote] Sources said Apple is remodeling certain iMac components as part of its plan to launch an upgrade version. The company is also considering cutting prices to boost sales, but improved demand probably will not be seen until August, according to sources. <hr></blockquote>

So, I think apple has an iDevice more like the Moxi Media Center in the works. If Rendezvous can do what apple says, an IP-capable set-top box that can store, stream, and serve up just about every entertainment experience you can think of would be sweet. A sort of big brother to the iPod.

Apple even said you could use Rendezvous to make iTunes into a music jukebox for your whole house. You could keep all your music on the iMac in the den, and then listen to the iMac?s playlists via the living room stereo. Acting as the hub of digital content for the home, this device could play your DVDs CD and MP3/4s, act as a cable or DSL router, store your digital music, and function as a PVR, all at the same time. Add to this the ability to browse webpages, send instant messages (thanks to iChat), and provide video-on-demand services. This would really complete the digital hub!

"Notice that all third-party products Apple just bought immediately dropped Windoze support. The message is "the Mac way or the highway" which is pretty good if the Apple software/hardware can support the users properly.

Full steam ahead, lets do this."

    Let's get it on...

    Illume!

I wonder...is the 'green' Apple learning to get 'down and dirty' in order to win that extra 5%? Certainly...learning from Dell's production techniques might be interesting to get prices more competitive. An ultra cheap line of Macs to 'Switch' the wintel folk on...

Apple have shown over the last few years that they are learning from previous mistakes. They've done great with the software...if they can make their hardware specs more competitive price wise...then we've got a full scale assault on Windows on our hands...
