<strong>i thought OS X was supposed to be rock-stable; why is everyone's uptime only a few days or hours?

At work now on Xp but my uptime at home is about 9 days. I can't remember the last crash induced reboot. 9 days ago I mounted the UPS off the side of my desk on wheels. In order to zip-cord all the cables into pretty plastic sleeves, I had to turn off my computer.
Ooh, kextload, of course, why didn't I just use that? Because, of course, I have a perfect working knowledge of everything Terminal-related.
</sarcasm>
I don't think I should have to learn everything in the terminal just to avoid a restart where it's not necessary. The installer application should do that automatically. That's one of my gripes with OS X... nobody should be expected to use the Terminal, that's just there for people who want to use it. But I'm not a big fan of CLI... I mean, the GUI was invented years ago, for a good reason.
Damm. I would love to post my uptime but I restarted my computer in a panicing range the other day. It must have been like 3 Months of uptime. I was trying to make some record (Dont know why)
Wow. Most of you guys suck. Why do you reboot so often? This isn't OS 9 you know.
Because this is a record, I've avoided installing anything that requires a restart including QT 6.1 and soon OS X 10.2.4. The last reboot was to install 10.2.3.
Still on 10.1, huh? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
I had about 70 days, but then some software update came out (damn you, Apple!), and then I went on holiday for, like, a month, so I turned all the electricity off. Kind of involved shutting down the Mac...

Been doing some stuff restarting the computer though, oh well. Guess I'll stop that.

I think the 3 users refer to you logging into your computer, as root, normal, something like that.

It shouldn't, use kextload in terminal.
