Hey Bioflavonoid? Are you still alive? We're not getting much of a refresh on your response to our responses. Please?
Whatever you do DON"T buy an obsolete A04 SuperDrive (Quad Speed A05 ships next month) and don't buy an obsolete 15" Studio Monitor (Apple just discontinued them) and don't buy any of Apple's RAM above their absolute minimum allowed and don't buy a Radeon 9000 when you can buy a 9700 in another month (since you seem to be a gamer).
As of today 10.10.02 Apple is offering double the base RAM for $40. So you can get a single 512 stick for only $40 extra with the dual 867 or dual 1 GHz or 2 - 512 sticks with the dual 1.25 GHz.
So that takes you down to $1699 - $699 store credit for the FREE InDesign 2 for a net $1,000. So what are you going to do with the spare $2,000?
I'm sorry: yes I am still alive. I have come to a conclusion though: how about an iBook? If Oct. 15 means an iBook w/ a 32 mb video card, I'm all for it. So what do you guys think? I'll also probably get a Mitsubishi Diamond plus screen (200 dollars give of take) and an apple pro keyboard. And yes, I am a gamer...
Ok, now I was thinking about something like this:
Summary ---
? Power Mac G4 Dual 867MHz w/133MHz system bus
? 512MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM - 1 DIMM
? 120GB Ultra ATA drive
? Optical 1 - Apple SuperDrive
? Optical 2 - None
? ATI Radeon 9000 Pro dual-display w/64MB DDR
? Apple Studio Display (15" flat panel)
? 56K internal modem
? AirPort Card
? Apple Pro Keyboard - U.S. English
? Mac OS - U.S. English
Subtotal $2,997.00
This is my dream set-up for the price. Would you suggest something else? I really want a portable, but the powerbooks are too expensive and the ibooks dont meet my speed hunger. Any suggestions?...
I'll sell you my new iBook with Airport base/card for $2000. I originally paid $2300 for it. It is a month old G3 700 w/256 ram. I hate to sell it, but my job has an impending layoff. I would rather have my bills paid off, than have the iBook. PM me if your interested.

Although, this Fry's thing is interesting...are there any in Colorado, or is it a California based company? Could I sell InDesign on eBay?

You can shop Fry's at Outpost
take your $3000 and save it for a PPC970-based system in the second half of 2003.
