Wegmans and Publix? Was this a survey taken in the Midwest?
Is there even a single Publix in the middle or West part of the country? I thought Publix was only Southeast.
Thats why he was asking...because there are no western grocery stores on the list. However, that could be because simply none of them made it on the list.
Thanks. I read it as only being taken in the Midwest.
Amazon, possibly the most viciously monopolistic company in the US today, out to monopolize all of retailing and well on its way to doing so, is the most reputable company in the country. We're doomed.
It's because we hate the rest of the 'in your face, ripoff retailers'. All we want is a good product at a good price, delivered to our door.
UPS? That's how it gets there. USPS how it gets lost...
Costco? How we buy more to shop less.
Apple? It just works. Under Armor? Good Q, simple style, decent price.
Anyone see a theme?
People keep knocking the USPS. If you've ever gone abroad and tried to mail a letter, you will discover that the USPS postage rates are awfully cheap. It's fashionable to knock the USPS but they offer a pretty damned good service for the price and despite the financially onerous legislation that a (Republican) congress saddled the institution with. Legislation that required the USPS pre-fund 75 years of future pension obligations and gave them 10 years to do it. That sounds like sound legislation except that no other private or government corporation, including UPS and Fedex, are required to do the same thing.

Presumably (and oddly), if a respondent had never heard of the company or had no opinion their responses weren't counted for that company. Otherwise, regional companies like these (and not-open-to-everyone companies like USAA) wouldn't have ranked highly.
Another theory would be that there is some "home cooking" going on since Harris (the pollster) and Wegmans are both based in Rochester, NY.
It's nice to see our local supermarket ranked number 2 on the list.
As is mine...love going to Wegmans!
Okay I think Wegmans is good I do shop there from time to time, but this calls into question where was the survey done, Wegmans is not all over the country. It had to say they have a great Rep when not everyone knows them. How does a local grocery store rank amount national and international Brands

Amazon probably ranks high due to financial performance, vision and leadership. Wall Street loves that company because Bezos is slowly putting all other retailers out of business and Amazon investors are cackling with glee about that. You will almost never hear Wall Street ever say anything negative about Amazon or Jeff Bezos. You'd really be led to believe that Amazon is THE perfect company and far exceeding Apple in almost everything. Practically everything Amazon does is considered a successful venture and that's without even knowing exact sales numbers. Jeff Bezos has a lot of rich investors backing his company. Being called the most reputable company will definitely boost Amazon's value even higher.
I've never even heard of Wegmans. Are there any stores in the Northeast such as NYC?
Can not say they are in NYC but they are all over NJ, but most people in NYC never get out of the city much. But still not sure how they showed up on this list.

Either that, or the poll is useless, providing pulled-from-the-butt numbers that forward someone's agenda.
Occam's Razor suggests that at least the "useless" part of that is likely to be closer to the truth.
