Pulldown menus are whatever the browser you use has...unless they have custom ones that aren't showing in OmniWeb.
As for the colors and whatnot...well I hope that users cannot select their own color...not that I think conformity is always a good thing but when I'm reading a thread I like it all one color/size/font.
<strong>Hooray for Futura.</strong><hr></blockquote>I think you missed the memo. That's not futura. That's Adobe Myriad, the same font Apple's adopting for its newer logos and graphics (starting with the eMac name, IIRC).

Although it would be nice to have FUNCTIONAL "Speed Holes." It's just a design element without a purpose... that's not good design. Who am I kidding though? This is an Apple related site- form over function right?
I look forward to a effortless transition to the new 'board. I've bookmarked the direct addresses of the various forums and never come in throught the main domain name. I suppose I'll know when the new 'board is up because my links will no longer function....correct?
Did I miss when the ETA of this upgrade is set to debut?

Keep one of these bookmarked because we also sometimes post announcements on the front page. Yes, your bookmarks to the individual forums will break.

most design "elements" don't have a purpose. That is why they are called "design elements". From a purely compositional standpoint, the speedhols are serving to balance out the design by adding an element related to the theme of the site to the design. Without the speedholes, that top bar would be heavy on the left.
From a human interface perspective, it is wasted space that could be better filled with information Graphical excellence is that which gives to the viewer the greatest number of ideas in the shortest time with the least ink in the smallest space However, that does not mean you should ignore basic foundation design "rules" (I don't like using the word rules, as I shouldn't be able to tell you how to do your art, but you get the idea)
