I personally think "hacks" like this are good, it keeps companies on their toes, it pushes security programmers to up their game constantly. You don't have to download and watch the episodes, so it's of no concern to 99% of you if you don't want it to be. No one's personal details were leaked, no one was hurt or damaged by this - if anything netflix gets free publicity for a new season which I too didn't realise was onto season 5 - I haven't started season 3 yet. The small (50 bitcoin) ransom verified that the hackers didn't see much damage in the leak but regardless, payments as such keep them going. They've got to pay for the internet bill in mom's basement somehow .
A whole season of a TV show on torrent sites? Who Cares? The answer is: NOBODY CARES! 10$ monthly and you get EVERY TV series.
These are not the brightest hackers around.
as of right now on piratebay alone, there are at least 1500 seeders and another 750 leechers who care enough to download it. Even $1 a month is too much to some if they can get it for free.
