I really wish we could have gotten Homekit support in High Sierra (both through Siri and the app) as well as the app on Apple TV.
I really don’t understand why when I ask Siri on my Mac to, say, turn on the lights in the basement, the response is something along the lines of “Sorry, I can’t control HomeKit devices from here.” So, Mac Siri KNOWS I’m requesting a HomeKit function but can’t carry it out. So weird.
I would love to see the app on macOS, I think it would be quicker than setting things up on iOS.
This is a needed feature. The wife would not allow this in the house since she did not want lights and stuff changing based on just me. I have done home automations since X10 in the 80's and she knows enough that if it is not as simple as hitting a light switch it is not worth having. When homekit came out and the geofencing feature was available and as soon as I explained how it work, she said absolutely not. Now maybe I can convince her with this added feature.

I’m with you, I only use the geofencing features for turning on outside lights when we get home after dark. Anything inside could potentially cause an issue, up until now. Most of the time this would work great, my concern is, say, we have a babysitter and then my wife and I leave and some HomeKit routines start to run and the next thing you know the sitter and the baby are in the dark, with no heat. It would be nice to have a Control Center accessible button that would override the geofence until xx:xx time.
Granted, that’s a rare use case for me and I’m still happy we have these new options.
