Too late.  I threw it out after warranty expired because the back cover came off again and again.  Won't be buying another one either. Waiting to see what Fitbit releases this fall - I was only interested in health and fitness anyway and dreaded the bulk of Apple Watch.
So you threw it away without ever contacting Apple first? How strange.

It’s hardly fair to call the 38mm “bulky”. It’s quite small.

That was dumb.  Is fitbit still in business?

Just received a replacement Gen 1 after the watch battery expanded and popped the screen off the watch. They've extended the warranty for expanding battery issues for 3 years as well.
Watch 1 was a play toy and really useless.  When my iPhone becomes obsolete and I can do everything the phone does on an Apple Watch - I might buy another.  Btw that Watch 1 I threw away in the garbage was replaced by Apple  - as it fell apart - the "glue" is a problem in high humidity places.  I travel lots and can't afford to piss around with a device that is not dependable.  So back to a quality Swiss timepiece while deciding and waiting on the next Fitbit release - which looks great from the information available.  I don't need useless apps, talking watch - just time and fitness / health info.  Too bad Apple makes only 1 device model that try's to do everything ... but does not.  Before someone jumps on me - I am a big user of everything Apple has ever made - the Watch is the first product that was a fail for me.

No problems with the back cover. But... the SCREEN on mine just popped up on one side and flops around. Never dropped it, hit anything, etc. I was quite shocked when I put it on a week ago. Really bummed.
It may be due to the battery swelling, check if it is covered
The bottom or top can pop as the glue dries a bit and is less strong coupled with battery taking more space.

The back on my Watch started to fall off a couple of months ago. I called Apple. They sent me a refurbished one, had me send mine back, and charged me $249 since they said it was out of warranty. I refused to agree to the charge, and made it clear that I would fight Apple on this via Amex by putting it in dispute (a first, in my over 30 years of interaction with the company).

The $249 credit appeared on may Amex account the next day.

What the frack is going on with Apple customer service?!

The same thing happened to my first generation Apple Watch. I took it to my nearby Apple Store and was given a brand new (not refurbished) first generation model. I'm wondering if the warranty for the replacement model expires based upon the original model's warranty or if it has its own new warranty.
Either way, I'm getting the third generation version this fall.

I need to take my Gen 1 (or was it Gen 0?) to the service centre. It is stuck in a charging loop, no matter what I do. It just keeps showing the charging cable icon when it is charging. Really sad about that.

What about the damn screen falling off? Mine barely use keeps popping out. The original AW manufacturer should be removed from Apple approved manufacturer.

Take it to Apple. This is an issue when the battery swells. Apple has extended the warranty to three years for those cases.
