Sheesh. The whole thing was fake news to begin with. Created, in large part, by clueless people like Kuo.
People should stop paying attention to this nonsense. Or buy the stock for the long haul if there's a dip because of such crap.
I would think Apple appreciates all the press attention, driving more and more interest from potential buyers. IMHO I would be surprised if Apple itself is not behind some of the controlled "leaks" we read whenever new products are soon to hit the market.
Advice: You should take time to read more on your own before calling BS on someone else's (in this case supported) opinion. If you disagree with my opinion that Apple is behind some of the new product "leaks" we read... ...please supply some -- any -- evidence that I'm wrong.
1) Ridiculous links. About the same credibility as your assertion
I love how there have been all these rumors about the iPhone8, no one mentioning the iPhone 7's hardly at all, and then now when it's about 3 weeks to the announcement, it's all like "Oh, we have no idea what this actually will be called, but probably not the iPhone 8".
My entry in the sweepstakes, which seems pretty obvious, is "Apple Phone". Of course, it does throw away ten years of branding, but ... it's all new! And it does match the Apple Watch. Cheers!!!🍸🍸🐱
Indications are Apple will deprecate the LCD phones next year and focus on producing AMOLED devices across its three size choices. The 7S will likely soldier on for a year or two as a cheap option but with no technological additions. The "Pro" moniker only makes sense if Apple is going to continue development of a lower class device with lesser capabilities than the flagship.
I'm going for "Edition" on this phone with copper as a one-time color for marketing purposes and possibly a set of AirPods included as part of the first year's run.

Eye of the beholder and all that.... Your opinion is no better and no worse than mine. Calling BS, especially considering better-connected folks than either you or me share my opinion is a going a bit far but I have taken the source into consideration and weighed your comments accordingly.
Trust no one when it comes to Apple information. People on the internet writing articles about Apple are either liars or in desperate need of attention.
Writing smack about Apple means ad clicks. Follow there money.
On the other hand if there's only slight or no inventory issues in any particular iPhone models then maybe Kuo is not as well-connected as some presume.
But then the new phones will be declared flops. If there's enough to supply initial demand then that means nobody is buying them. Or so it will be claimed.

"...all the earmarks of a controlled leak. Here's how Apple does it.
Often Apple has a need to let information out, unofficially. The company has been doing that for years, and it helps preserve Apple's consistent, official reputation for never talking about unreleased products. I know, because when I was a Senior Marketing Manager at Apple, I was instructed to do some controlled leaks.
The way it works is that a senior exec will come in and say, "We need to release this specific information. John, do you have a trusted friend at a major outlet? If so, call him/her and have a conversation. Idly mention this information and suggest that if it were published, that would be nice. No e-mails!"
The communication is always done in person or on the phone. Never via e-mail. That's so that if there's ever any dispute about what transpired, there's no paper trail to contradict either party's version of the story. Both sides can maintain plausible deniability and simply claim a misunderstanding. That protects Apple and the publication."

As for which rumors to believe and which ones we shouldn't have we'll all know soon enough. If some models ship while other do not, or the "Pro" (!) version sells out in a day and remains out of stock for weeks then perhaps Kuo knows more than some give him credit for. On the other hand if there's only slight or no inventory issues in any particular iPhone models then maybe Kuo is not as well-connected as some presume.
If there isn’t a supply constraint that would be newsworthy. Because there always is, every year at launch, and we don’t need to be well-connected to predict it.

That’s an impossible thing to ask — there can be no evidence that apple isn’t behind the leaks if they aren’t leaking. But if they are the source of the leaks there can be evidence since the leaking can be exposed.
A silly game to pretend otherwise. Anyway if you’re the one claiming something you’re the one that should provide the burden of proof. Saying “Prove that I’m wrong!” is silly and can be applied to any number of ridiculous assertions (my favorite - there’s an omnipotent invisible elf living under my bed that no one can see. Prove that i’m wrong!). It’s a known fallacy:

His subscribed investors are, and that's who these reports go to. They aren't meant as press releases.

Apple suffers some kind of supply constraint (usually for a particular configuration) at every launch, and this one will be no different. This is not a prediction I'd pay money for.

@anantksundaram How about one from a former Apple Senior Marketing Manager? I would think far more credible than either you or me.
