Revamped AirPods Happened or Not?

There were a few Appleinsider articles about potential revamped AirPods recently. Here's one:

but did that actually happen? I went to the Apple online store today and they are still selling P/N MMEF2AM/A. I think the only thing that was mentioned during the keynote was the AirPod wireless charging case due out this winter, but nothing about revised airpods themselves.

Any intel?

That's it. Just the wireless charging case, that isn't even available now.
