    The 40000+ proper BlackCab drivers will be greatly relieved. The uberbunch of barely-regulated drivers is also a great blot on the landscape in general. There are numerous instances of rapes and robberies that are actually notified to the police, besides many more that have gone unreported.

    Lyft is still licensed, it’s only Uber.

    I have friends that either love or hate Uber. I don't like the company because of its shitty behavior and lack of transparency.

    Good friend in London still uses them and laments this latest turn of events. Two summers ago he arranged a car pickup with another service (Leaf? Green Leaf?) after initially setting up Uber to pick us up. Uber and similar services need to be regulated fairly and held accountable when they screw up.
