I had to laugh at this statement "iPhone X packs in a massive 2,715mAh battery."

Compared to android phones this is still quite small, expect between 3000 up to 5000 for the green robot brigade.
You can either go two routes: add more battery capacity (easy, but shortsighted) or optimize your hardware and software stack so that it uses less power (harder, but better in the long run).
Isn't there a 2900mAh battery in the iPhone 7 Plus, it's just apple being apple and focusing on keeping the bean counters happy by saving a few bucks.
It’s just being Apple to have a better OS that’s actually optimized for battery use where Android required massive batteries to just barely keep up. Better hardware that’s more efficient, such as their SoC.

Yup.  I don’t understand the thinking that a bigger battery = better.  I’d much rather Apple find a way to put a battery in iPhone that’s the same size as the battery in Apple Watch and still get 10 hours out of it but free up space inside for more tech.  I don’t care about having a large battery, I care about how long I can use the phone for without charging.  I typically don’t have to charge my iPhone at all during the course of the day and I use my iPhone quite a bit.  If Apple can continue that kind of performance and reduce the size of the battery I’m all for it.

Apple’s phones have leading battery lives in their respective size categories.
