Apple on Thursday issued the first public betas for two of its next planned point releases, iOS 11.2.5 and tvOS 11.2.5.

Access to either requires free membership in Apple's Beta Software Program. iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch owners can upgrade over-the-air once they have Apple's special certificate installed -- Apple TV users, meanwhile, should go into the Settings app, select System, then find the Software Updates section and make sure "Get Public Beta Updates" is activated.

The public betas come a day after the first developer seeds. No major changes have been discovered with those, suggesting that Apple is concentrating on maintenance and security.

The company's most recent finished updates were iOS 11.2.1 and tvOS 11.2.1, also released on Wednesday. Both restored remote access to shared users of the Home app.
