I don't mean any offense to anyone here, but why is it that (some/most) Mac users seem to have no clue about the business world? When Corporate America adopts catch phrases like "Mission Critical", Apple really doesn't pop up in people's heads.

I've heard the term "MacinToy" used a lot.

I think everyone's heart is in the right place. But please, let Apple promote itself. That's why we pay them money. I think if one finds oneself with extra time on one's hands, one should consider volunteer work at one's local charity. Note: Apple is not a charity.

No they don't. With the introduction of OS X Macs now have as many problems as they've always had, only they don't crash three times an hour.

Considering Windows is the standard platform, they must be doing something right.

What about a business that can't afford to pay for Macintosh computers? What kind of Mac solution can you offer them?

Well, now that I'm calling it to YOUR attention, can I ask how much you gave?

Slow down there, bud. No mac 'solutions' for most of the few hundred applications used by our university library.

I say we throw off our clothes and take this to the streets. (or at least over to fireside chat) Things are getting testy in here. Arguing can be cool, fighting is not.

Wow! Thanks for all the great feedback folks! I'm going to stick to my guns:

There is a mac solution for EVERY business. Does this mean exclusively Mac? Probably not. Apple currently does not make ERP-based server and mainframe hardware. However, it does not mean that an IT department cannot use Macs as and end-user, file server, and yes, application server solution. I could go into examples of solutions for just about any business, including easy transitions from existing technology.

I'm even going to play the "does it run this application?" game.

WRT to Bill Gates: I give AT LEAST 10% of my income to the United Way and other charities. How 'bout you folks?

Honestly, I wish I had the time at this moment to defend myself fully, all of you had such great comments, but I think it's going to have to wait until tomorrow, while I collect my thoughts.

Hi sorry to take so long to reply!

Actually he did not make any specific allegations but he did say people should look at what disturbs them personally and start there and cited Microsoft as an example.

    Sorry if I implied otherwise.
