The only thing that needs to happen to push iOS gaming over consoles is developers to make console quality games using Metal and get them off PS4 and XBox which are pretty much dead platforms now.
What? How are they dead platforms? The PS4 is getting close to something like 80 million console sales. PSVR is at over 2 million already.
They’re also over four years old and running ancient hardware with no upgrade options. PS4 hasn’t had any changes although XBox 1 did fix a number of issues with XBox hardware but it’s still old hardware.
iOS devices are selling over 80 mil in a year so your argument falls over a little.

This is incorrect. Both platforms have been upgraded, there’s a PS4 Pro and Xbox One S.
I understand iOS devices sell in greater numbers, but by no stretch of the imagination are the PlayStation and Xbox “dead platforms”.
