I started by downloading iOS 11.4 to my iPhone 7, but it won't let me enabled Messages in iCloud unless I also enable stupid 2-factor authorization, which I will never do.  I then said to myself, "Fine, iOS is stupid, so I'll just do it on my MacBook Pro 15" (2015 model -- the last great MBP) after upgrading MacOS to 10.13.5."  But I can't enable it on my Mac either because when I open Messages and Preferences and click Accounts, I only see the "Enable this account" checkbox, under which the new checkbox does not appear at all.

So in my opinion, these 2 OS updates are rather worthless.

Sigh, the first apple update to mess up my iMac (mid-2011). iMac won't restart to complete the update, and just hangs at any restart now. It's usable with a force shut down, but I really didn't want to do a clean install :-(
