Looks like a cheap piece of crap, just like the rest of their products.
Actually, that piece of crap is quite expensive! Costs almost just as much as a good iPadPro.
I try to be fair. The Tab 3 is nicely made with a machined aluminum shell. I assume this is too.

They’d have been a lot smarter to target Surface Pro users. At that price point and with a new iPad Pro coming out soonish, they’ve provided exactly zero reasons for an iOS user to switch.

    1) The MS Surface isn't a great seller.

    2) As usual, Samsung isn't really competing with Apple, but using the apex product in the market as a way of getting Android-based users to gravitate toward Samsung products over other Android-based vendors.

I was genuinely surprised to read about a Samsung Tablet. I thought those things didn't make news anymore. Honestly, I thought they didn't even make those anymore.

Looks nice but with A11X or whatever processor iPad will have can have S4 for lunch.

Forget A11X, the good old A10 has overall better performance (better in CPU, almost equal in GPU as far as I remember) than SD 835 in Samsung Tab S4.

Is Android even idealized for tablet use yet?
It's been a while since I used an Android tablet (Samsung, Woxter) but the experience wasn't as good as with my Mini 2.

No idea if things have improved.

They've gotten worse. No OEMs putting any effort into tablets, Google not taking Android on tablets seriously and developers too lazy to optimize for tablets, instead relying on Android scaling to make phone Apps work on larger screens.
My Mini 2 is simply amazing. Battery life is amazing too. We have an iPad Air 2 at home which has been a big disappointment for me. The battery life is dreadful and it's too big. Luckily that tablet never leaves the house so both issues are effectively non-issues. I see little in an Android tablet that could persuade me to switch.

On the TV side Apple TV was the biggest waste of money ever. It is almost never used.

Here, and for my own content, an Android Box is far better. I have a Vorke Z6 Plus but on Prime Day I got a Shield TV which has been another huge letdown and from the supposed king of the hill. It has some major design issues.

At this point in time all tablets and TV boxes should have absolutely bulletproof support for removable USB storage.

Considering its age and understanding it's limitations, for me, the Mini 2 is one of the best tablets ever made.

Almost a Sawtooth of the tablet world.

I tend to agree or at least they are just as bad as before. But I have noticed with the tablet market shrinking that android tabs are just good video players and maybe OK web surfing devices if you don’t have an older iPad. The Apps are where the iPad beats the hell out of Android. They are incredibly terrible, believe me, I have a samsung laying around the house that never gets used, even my wife doesn’t use it.

Tablet and productivity don’t belong in the same sentence. fixed that for you.
You really need to use an iPad before saying that. It’s obvious by your simple dismissal, that you haven’t. If you say you have, it’s not believable.
I agree and disagree. There are some things that can be done on an iPad as far as productivity but it’s still far limited compared to a laptop. A laptop is much like a slower desktop while an iPad is like a limited laptop. There is just so much you can do on a touchscreen. It’s a better consumption device to supplement a laptop/desktop. It’s poor for CAD, missing a mouse for extended use (plus I could beat anyone using a mouse vs them using a touch screen in terms of speed, ease, and productivity).

Good device for taking everywhere though.

iPads are being used, very successfully by both business and government, in the millions, possibly the tens of millions.

you are making the same mistake that is made with everything else, over time. Is an ipad equal to a workstation? No, it’s not. No one would want to do a vast database on an iPad. But that’s not the point. Most database work does well on an ipad as do spreadsheets, writing, editing, and the like. I do 3D modeling of parts I make on my iPad, and it works just about as well as my Mac Pro.

i understand it’s difficult to adjust, but adjust, people will have to do.

They work better as email devices, reviewing devices more than producing. I don’t know of many iPad 3D modeling softwares. Worse, how can you interact with complication parts without the ability to point and click fine details.

You mean they work very well as e-mail devices. Yes, that too. But it’s clear that you don’t want to believe something that you’re not familiar with yourself. I get it. Change is hard, after all, and a lot of people can’t manage it. Before the 2008 recession, people insisted that laptops couldn’t do productivity either. It was the need for cheaper, better laptops that reduced their cost that changed peoples minds.

‘’You’re out of the loop on this obviously, because the changeover for iPads has already happened.

There’s no difficulty in doing that. The 13” screen is just as big as a large number of notebooks, and is of far higher resolution. As you should know, as with even large computer monitors, you need to magnify the screen at times. It can be done here as well.

Again though, you have to understand that nobody is stating that, at this time, the iPad Pro is just as fast as an 8 core Zeon, or has a 27” screen. But just as major film production involves using notebooks in the field for editing that later moves to larger machines in the studio, CAD and other productivity software works the same for an ipad. If I want to do an extremely complex machine consisting of extremely complex parts, which I do t do these days, I could do all of the more basic work on my iPad, and move it to my Mac Pro. For something that isn’t that complex, I can, and do, start and finish it on my iPad Pro 12.9”.

toure a skeptic because you have no interest in doing this, or even trying it.
