It’s amazing how every time Kuo puts out a note the rumor sites rush to post it and every Apple focused techie rushes to comment on it as if it’s fact. It’s not. He’s just making guesses like everyone else. And it’s hard fornme to take seriously a rumor that says iPad Pro is going USB-C but no other iOS product will. What’s the point? And then everyone who owns an Apple Pencil would need an adapter to charge it with the new iPad? Makes no sense.
Not sure I buy the MacBook with touchID one. It already has unlock with Apple Watch.
And it’s even more lazy using the AW since you can unlock the Mac with any key / tap and don’t even need to target the touchID area potentially only to be beat by FaceID.
All ceramic back? Sweet, so even the base models get that? The composite is definitely a notable step back in solidity.
I wonder if this is because the steel will go away, the leaked render looked an awful lot like polished aluminum which looked a lot like steel. We'll see soon.
Absolutely agree with you. I can't believe people are STILL whining and complaining about what is essentially a non-issue. One has DAYS after getting a battery-low notification message to plug recharge their mouse, yet apparently can't be bothered to plug the damn cable over night when they go to sleep or leave the office for the night.
it's not always being lazy. i still have to deal with folks that 'read somewhere' that plugging stuff in over night ruins the battery.
Take for instance the Apple Mouse, and all the complaints about Lightning port on the bottom, making it unusable when charging. That would change substantially if let's say there were an inductive charging Mouse Pad.
I believe that design choice was so people could never use it in wired mode, as Jony and gang probably felt they'd never unplug it and then it may as well not be wireless. But I think it was misguided design thinking. Typical wireless mice for the most part are more annoying with all the repeat charging or swapping of batteries. They should have swallowed their design pride and put the port on the lower front, and allow people who want to use it wired to do so and others to not.
As for your inductive mouse pad idea, I feel a better concept would be put the inductive charger in the iMac foot, and allow that to charge both keyboard and mouse. The mouse pad would need to have a wire coming from it; the iMac foot is already attached—and they could do one better and allow it to charge with iMac Shut Down, but connected to power, or at least while sleep mode.
Personally switched to wired mouse recently and will soon switch to wired keyboard.
Errrnt, it's not about "pride" and some crazy story that they're trying to force you to use it wireless. The answer is simpler, just look at the Magic Mouse -- there is no front for a port, it's a glass touch surface all the way down. The wireless version is the same design as the wired, so changing its shell shape completely is unwarranted when just making a wireless version.
I doubt you own one, but I do. Charging is rare and not the slightest of concerns. If for some reason I failed to heed the notification that it will soon need charging and plug it in after my session, then I can plug it in before a session for one minute what I get a drink of water or coffee or use the bathroom or flip thru some papers or whatever -- and it's charged for an entire day's use. Conversely I also have a wireless mouse that can be used plugged in, and I rarely use it. The MM design is better, period.
The whiners bitching about not being able to plug it in and use it are typical PC guys and the OCD hater sort, who don't even use the stuff they're complaining about.
Except why couldn't they simply alter the design a bit to allow you to plug the mouse in and use it at the same time? The battery life of the wireless mouse is impressive, but I always seem to get the low battery warning in the morning. Worse, we have a shared Mac at work and I usually get the low battery warning when the mouse battery is dead. At that point I need to find another mouse to plug in or find another computer until the mouse has charged sufficiently. The fact that they have long battery life still doesn't excuse the poor design decision.

Unlocking this Mac is so easy, you just buy a $500 watch.
I have both the watch and Touch ID - I find Touch ID faster and more convenient than using Apple Watch. It always takes the computer a few seconds to find and authenticate with the watch whereas using the touchID sensor on my MacBook Pro is virtually instant.
This is shaping up to be Apple's strongest September line-up yet. I really hope they can fit it all into one keynote instead of splitting it into two events.
I’m very excited for the new Apple Watch. Series 0 owners, like myself, can look forward to a larger (and brighter) display, much faster CPU, better water resistance and swim tracking, GPS, optional cellular and access to podcasting features of iOS 5. Also looking forward to seeing the new finishes and band options.
Don't know why people are complaining about the Magic Mouse charging port. Apple has just taken the concept of the "mouse" to the next level - when the mouse is about to die, you lay it on it's back and give it an electric current charge!
