Compared: iPhone XS Max video quality trounces iPhone X

Thanks for the superb review. That’s a really great comparison and clearly shows the differences. 

The iPhone X camera was already outstanding and I’ve been impressed with many of the photos I’ve taken. I’d judge it to be as good as a DSLR in the right conditions (daylight, 1x or 2x zoom) and it copes admirably in more difficult scenarios. The iPhone XS looks like a major improvement though and I’m glad I upgraded - the camera improvements were the big attraction for me. 

I’ve only had the iPhone XS for 24 hours and confess apart from the camera the iPhone XS doesn’t feel any different to my iPhone X. It may be a lot faster but when everything is near instant it’s difficult to judge the improvement...

I pretty much agree.

To me the difference is similar to what one hears from a $2K stereo system vs a $5K system.   There's a difference but you have to look/listen for it.

I think what's happening is we're get into the 80/20 rule -- where the X takes care of the 80% leaving minor improvements to the Xs.

I'm getting impatient waiting for my Max to get here Tuesday, as Verizon's online system screwed up my order. I selected in-store pickup for yesterday. The confirmation email shows a store order number, but when I got there, they had no record of it, and said it's being shipped for Tuesday delivery. Though the woman I spoke to on the phone couldn't do anything to correct it, they did give me 25% off my current bill to make up for it. At least that gives me back the $30 that is now required to be paid when placing the order for upgrade, instead of billing it as they have always done before.
