That is one of the best Steve Jobs keynotes of all time. If you recall, they had to do the announcement in January to show the phone, even though it wasn't complete yet. The reason was the soon to be filed FCC regulation documents. I think Steve also alluded to that in the keynote. If they did not show the phone in January, the secret would have been discovered through the FCC filings and Apple did not want that to happen. If you watch the keynote, he does make a blunder and says he will show apps, stating the Calendar as one of them, but he never actually shows the Calendar app, likely because it wasn't finished yet.
That keynote never gets old to watch over and over. He was magical on stage and could truly sell a product. All of his keynotes are great to watch. Now the keynotes are just random Apple employees reading spec sheets on a video. They don't sell anything to anyone regarding a new product.
