My greatest regret, having trashed my original Mac128 turned MacPlus . . . . . . It's been 40 years since that April 1985 when I got my 128 from the USFK Taegu PX hinted by an IBM AT user who was my Commander at the time. It did not become an 512 until my arrival at Fort Hood in 1986 and became a Plus on 1988 when I returned to PR, that was my first and last desktop Mac. Mac meant for me becoming able to touch a keyboard other than a typewriter's for the very first time since, in College, I just panicked just by looking at those boxes with punchcards and those weird green screens, just passed on my chances to take computer courses. Will never forget the hours dedicated to play CAD with MacPaint and MacDraw but, the task I pride about the most was being able to publish a 17 page pharmacy formulary before departing Korea, with just 400K disks and an external floppy drive, using the original ImageWriter. PowerBook 100 took me into the portable life forever up to my current MacBook 16/2019 model. PC's have come and gone, as well as desktop Macs but, portables turn out to be the next great leap in computing and I would not imagine my personal and professional life tied to a desk. As for Steve, he left behind a road that wouldn't have been paved at all by the PC technology and mentality, he took computing into the layman's world, into the school children's hands and gave the world the tools of graphics and creativity. There will always be a BeforeSteve and AfterSteve world not subject to debate. iPod/iPhones are for another chapter . . . . .
