I want to connect my iPhone to my iPad Pro 11” with a cable

I would like to connect my iPhone to my new iPad Pro (which has a USB-C port) to transfer photos and videos for editing on my iPad. Yes, I use iCloud for my photos, but some of these videos are rather big files. 

Is this possible? And if so, how?

    I haven't seen a way to do this, directly.

    Apple's own USB-C to Lightning cable should do this just fine. 

    Importing photos and video from iPhone to iPad has worked via the Camera Connector since Day One of iPad.

    Aha! I misunderstood the intent, not networking or working on device A's storage from device B. Good call!
