Hey, Jared, see if you can hit iTunes <a href="http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/03/02/17/036240.shtml?tid=176"; target="_blank">song limit</a>. That'd be cool.

Probably have 70 downloaded songs in here... others are ripped from our CD collection (about 425).

7358 Songs, 20:14:26:26, 37.06 GB. They're all complete albums, and I own all but about 10 percent.

I can't imagine having 32,000 Songs..... that's just insane. Using my stats as an average per track, that's 161 GB, with a play time of 89 days!

Can't wait for iTunes to support mpeg-4 so i can crush this stuff down to about 4 gigs </strong><hr></blockquote>

MP4 won't help too much. It's meant more for improving sound quality at low bit rates.

The point being that you can rip at, say 96kpbs in AAC and get sound quality as good as a 192kpbs MP3, along with a saving in file size.

48 GB because much of it is uncompressed AIFF. I trade live recordings of bands such as The Grateful Dead, Little Feat, The Radiators, Government Mule, etc. and lossy compression is very strictly NOT allowed among the traders of live music!

I just finished ripping my CD Collection at 320Bps, phew! There are a few downloaded MP3s (maybe 20), the rest are mine all mine. I use a dell optiplex for network and iTunes storage.
