Oprah? LOL. Apple TV+ sounds like it's going to be trash.
Honestly the Apple Credit Card was the most exciting announcement. The rest of the stuff is stuff looks standard fare B List Actors and Directors. Probably just save my money and watch it grow in the Apple Wallet app.
Can you please pass the drugs you're smoking? These were some of the most famous, most bankable directors and performers and producers.
Do y'all even watch movies or do you just read about them. The Force Awakens was TRASH. That's that beauty of the fanbases of Trekkies and Star Wars fans. You can deliver a dud and you'll still get the Mercy F*** from the fans. It's the Franchises are bankable not these "insert a Director" B-Listers
Please provide your A list directors and actors for our reference.
Directors -
Chris Nolan Dennis Villanueve Quentin Tarantino James Cameron Martin Scorcese Mel Gibson (Yes Mel "f*****ing Gibson) Alfonso Cuaron
Actors - Cate Blanchet Tom Hanks Brad Pitt Andre Braugher Christopher Walken Leo DiCaprio Denzel Washington Dame Judy Dench Richard Harris
Actors are easier. A great Director and Cinematographer bring out the best but most of the aforementioned rarely give bad performances.
So your A-list/B-list designation is entirely based on your personal preferences. That's totally legit.

A few of these I don't recognize, but I agree with the rest.
This household is not giving up Netflix. My pain-point isn't managing a few apps. If Apple can deliver some winners then they have a chance but they need to chill on the "we da best!" marketing schtick or you're going to find Netflix cleaning your clock.
You're selling what everyone else is selling. There's very little innovation in aggregating content. Apple original content is going to have to be good. ....really good.
Anything will be better than the tripe you watch on Netflix.

I didn't want the list to be too crazy big but thanks for the feedback. I'd gladly pay for the + subscription if Apple was able to build a mashup of Vimeo/YouTube. I've gotten more value out of YT videos than any broadcast. What does this look like?
1. User generated content that is curated in the beginning until a base level of quality production and content can be established. 2. Ability to use Apple Music audio safely without copyright strikes. 3. Apple Pay Cash support of artists that deliver good products 4. Final Cut Pro, Garage Band and Logic Pro X direct export, Table of Content generation, Subtitles and more. 5. Social features to allow commentary and links to other videos provided they aren't flagged to prevent. 6. Rather than the boring sidebar and columns of thumbnails each person would have many configuration options. Pages could be arranged to highlight some comments, podcasts, picture gallery and more. Each channel would resemble a webpage with some consistent UI elements for navigation and control.
Apple was born at the intersection of liberal arts and computer science. They've lost their way a bit. Apple has always been about pushing the creative envelopes and empowering "us all" not just the large content distributors.
The programs were interesting but my god what this segment of the keynote hard to get through. They bloated the hell out of the TV segment knowing they didn't have much to show because they flubbed a lot of deals with various networks. Hopefully more gets announced in the future, but Apple simply did not deliver a groundbreaking service like they did with Card. Very limited selection of channels, and nothing for news and sports. Meh, meh, meh.
It will clearly be high quality, and have much to offer. The roll out is great.
I feel stupid for saying this, but when I see "+" at the end of it, I read "+fee." Maybe I missed it, but I don't think they got to what that is specifically.
Did you know that Disney’s new streaming service is called “Disney+”? I don’t think this is a coincidence that both Apple and Disney have chosen the same naming scheme.

Are you supposing that Disney's service to be announced and this one from Apple are actually one and the same?
i like the idea that most of apple’s shows will lean on the positive or, as some are saying, “sanitized”. it will be a breath of fresh air. i can’t wait for this!
LOL you have to love the trolly behavior every Apple Event brings out. Meh nothing new to see here. Move along. Instead of continuing to mosey along through life however, the troll behavior requires them to stand and comment negatively to all those reveling in the new shiny amaze. AppleCard, Meh. AppleTV+, Meh, AppleArcade, Meh, Life is so bland to the troll that anything shiny and being enjoyed by someone else is cause for trollery and word vomiting on the shiny thing to kill the joy of others. You go Troll. You WIN!
I loved the concept of purchasing individual channels. Having the opportunity to buy exactly what I want may allow me to finally cord cut.

A two hour event and pricing was announced for only one thing...magazines. No details on this new gaming or TV subscription service. No info on pricing for content provider subscriptions signed up for within the TV app. Way more questions than answers at this point hence why the stock is down.
The stock fluctuates a few bucks every day, no sign today is any different. You’re saying there was a sell off today because they didn’t announce pricing? Good grief. The whole market is down.
Apple is down 2% but the Dow is flat. Both Amazon and Netflix are up. I do think this is Wall Street giving Apple a big meh. Especially when no firm availability or pricing was announced. Or anything really groundbreaking.
A year from now these services will be a tiny percentage of Apple's revenues even if wildly successful. The fact that the stock didn't jump up or down is meaningless.

And what's so innovative about Netflix? Nothing!
Netflix has proven they can deliver good content that keeps people paying. I'm going to sub to HBO to watch GoT and then cancel that isht. Netflix is the only service that is going to get a consistent monthly sub from my home. I welcome the competition but what I saw today were promises that looked like vapor. We'll see if Apple can deliver content that can close the gap with Netflix and Prime Video

That's a good list although I had to look up a few of the directors I wasn't familiar with (Villanueve & Cuaron). Didn't realize Villanueve did Arrival and Blade Runner 2049. You are right about Mel Gibson. It's strange some of his work such as Apocalypto isn't available in digital formats.
