I, once again, don’t think the analysts “get it.”. Apple’s services play is about building the brand. The CC will be massive (and the credit card industry is scrambling right now to figure out how to react or they should be).
Apple News plus and Apple Arcade are long plays. Agree that TV+ is best thought along the lines of Amazon Video, but all it will take is one hit show to have people choose to enter the Apple ecosystem or choose to stay there over less expensive Androidish options.
Apple did just fine here. I have criticized Apple’s sanitized media attitudes as being gutless approaches to art but the Oprah presentation makes me think Apple is approaching civility like they approach ecology...something that they need to do as good corporate citizens. I especially feel this after lifting up the cover and peering into the sewer known as ♾chan.
