Let's all take a moment to recognize that the man who is the reason we "waste" all our time in Mac forums, and have the greatest computers in the world to do it with, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer turns an oh-so-young 48 today (Feb 24, 2003). Happy Birthday Steve-o!!!

Well don`t just stand there open it!!
Aww...
Oh.

Sorry Steve...didn't mean to get your hopes up. Let me know your birthday and I'll make a thread for it!
Although I live in Rome amongst a bunch of slackers and laid back Italians,
I was quite surprised to see his birthday mentioned today in the shittiest free newspaper in the world.
Its called Metro, by the way.
Happy birthday Steve!
i think somebody should send him this thread, it'll be like a big birthday card
...that is if he isn't already searching these boards!
Happy Birthday Steve!
Whether the person is important or not, it is only polite to send someone best wishes for his birthday.
Happy Birthday Steve!

Because he's really gonna get these wishes, right?
Oh well, on my birthday in 1981 the Calgary Flames scored 11 goals against the Islanders. WAY cooler.
(1981 also had the NHL's most penalized game ever - 84 penalties (392 mins) between the Bruins and Northstars)
Google is cool. (though I did know the first one already..)
Oh yeah, a very big "will never see it anyway" Happy Birthday to Steve. Yay.

Perhaps another percentage point marketshare?
SJ's already worth hundreds of millions of $ from sale of NeXT, original AAPL stock, etc
SJ's already the owner of an allegedly plateless mercedes convertible, updating it less often than the PB, but keeping the new car smell
SJ's hobbies include world leading computer animation and cartoon properties loaded with star talent and mutual ego worship
SJ gets cooler toys ahead of the rest of us (he was under non-disclosure about the segway... wanna bet dean kamen gets the favour returned come 970 pre-seed lapzillas?).
SJ has gizmo juju 2nd only to Woz among many idol worshipping technohistorians, and has been the poster child of the Anti-establishment (Wintel) for longer than Linux has been alive... Gates is loved/hated by many... SJ may be the 2nd most recognized face in computing (not counting Keanu)
the cult of macintosh is widely documented and studied, inspiring modifications to hardware, software, wetware, and paradigms the planet over... including mulatta's fine hiney inked homage
SJ is considered the progenitor of products that in reality draw from a team synergy of creative design and engineering artistries, yet his global travels have included enough acknowledged explorations of religion (for self discovery or pure curiousity) that will have demonstrated the prevalence of the "creator/prophet/messiah/confessor/saviour" myth to suggest the value of such an iCEO role
SJ can likely buy most of the things he wants (except maybe faster production from Motorola), so the best birthday present should be something creative and unique... art, music, poetry, bon mots, good toasts and good spirits
Happy Birthday Steve Jobs. <blows kisses, raises glass> Keep up the pace for the next 48!
<mi mi mi... ahem... everybody ready? where's our baritone... haaappy birthday to you...>
edit add
p.s. also on this day in history... 1968. Cambridge University announces discovery of Pulsars.
More cool blinkenlights.

Yeah, I'll agree with you on the hockey game being way cooler. GO CANADA!!! I will also agree that Steve will never see these birthday messages, but you never know, he did mention scowering the rumor sites at MWSF '03. But I just figured I'd start a thread about it anyway.

Let's hope he doesnt slow down with age, what do you say to at least 20 good more years at the helm?
*Hugs*
Hey, I didn't really mean that as a knock against the thread, filmmaker2002, but I guess it did come off that way...
