Seventh-generation iPad with 10.2-inch screen ships on Wednesday
Apple will start to ship its seventh-generation iPad from Wednesday, the company has advised, with the first units of the tablet starting to arrive in Apple retail outlets beginning later this week.
In an announcement timed to coincide with the release of iPadOS 13.1 to users, Apple has confirmed it will commence shipments of the new 10.2-inch iPad from September 25. The new timing is seemingly earlier than Apple's original intention as the official page for the iPad lists it as "available starting 9/30," indicating the release has been shifted forward by a few days.
Available to order via the Apple website and the Apple Store app in more than 25 countries and regions, the new seventh-generation iPad replaces the traditional 9.7-inch display with a 10.2-inch Retina screen, which includes support for the first-generation Apple Pencil as well as the full-size Smart Keyboard.
Packing the A10 Fusion chip, the model is proclaimed to be twice as fast as the top-selling Windows PC, and is equipped with a rear 8-megapixel camera and a front-facing 1.2-megapixel FaceTime camera capable of 1080p video and 720p slo-mo video at 120 frames per second.
The new iPad is offered in Space Gray, Silver, and Gold color options, starting from $329 for the 32 gigabyte-capacity storage option and rising to $429 for the 128GB model. Upgrading from Wi-Fi to Wi-Fi and Cellular raises the price of each to $459 and $559 respectively.
