Rather than generate a master list of cases from press releases, each case included in this roundup for the iPhone 11 Pro Max we've personally tried on our own phones.
We've chosen only our favorite cases to include, of which there happen to be many. Let's get into it. To see the cases for yourself, be sure to check out the video.
Mujjo is among our favorite leather cases and it has just taken the wraps off a new color way for its two case designs.
Mujjo's new slate green leather cases
Its cases still come as a solid leather-wrapped shell as well as a second design with an integrated slanted card pocket on the back.
The new slate green looks sleek and perfectly accents the midnight green iPhone 11 Pro Max.
As with its other cases, the leather feels fantastic and is very soft while the inside is lined in a luxurious microfiber.

Tan, green, and black colors of the Woolnut iPhone cases
The cases are made from vegetable re-tanned full-grain Scandinavian leather. It is soft and and has a lightly pebbled texture to the outside. A Woolnut ram's head logo is stamped on the bottom.
Inside is a microfiber lining to help protect the phone as well.

The Torrey case from Lander is something quite unique. They've made a number of design choices that are unlike most cases on our list.
Lander Torrey case
Instead of perfectly rounded edges of the phone, Lander has tapered the Torrey edges to be slightly narrow. This creates an illusion when holding the case that the phone is thinner than it is. It also gives a bit more grip this way and doesn't slip from your hand.
Another benefit of that tapered edge is more drop protection. This case can withstand drops from up to ten feet.
The Torrey case also integrates a lanyard mount on the back. A nylon and metal lanyard is included in the box, color-matched to the case. It loops around this mount for extra protection when exploring.
ThermoLine insulation in Torrey case
Arguably the best feature of the case is the interior ThermoLine lining. This special layer of insulation allows your iPhone to keep working at more extreme temperatures. With ThermoLine, your iPhone should continue without issue from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees. If you've ever had your phone out in the sun for an extended period and seen the temperature alert you know how much of an issue it can be.

The Hex 4-in-1 case for iPhone 11 Pro Max is a great example of a multi-faceted case that doesn't skimp on quality.
All three parts of the Hex 4-in-1 case
It starts with a leather shell case. It has a TPU bumper around the outside and leather down the back. The inside is lined with microfiber for protecting the phone.
The second part of this three-part case is the folio. It wraps around the outside to add a pocket on the inside and screen protection. Here is where you can particularly feel the suppleness of the leather. The interior lining of the pocket feels so soft to the touch.

Magnets hold the shell case securely to the folio. It snaps right into place and doesn't move all unless you are trying to remove it. One aspect we don't like is the clasp. A magnetic clasp holds the folio closed but we also found those more annoying than helpful.

Part three is a magnetic wallet that can affix to the back. It too features shockingly strong magnets to keep it connected. We had no issue testing this case and having the wallet come free. It stayed put as designed. The magnets also had no ill effects on our credit cards.
This is a 4-in-1 case because you can use the shell case on its own, the shell case with the folio, the shell case just with the wallet, or the shell case with the folio and the wallet.

Grovemade leather and walnut folio
The frame of the case is oil-rubbed walnut that has a very natural appearance. Even the buttons are intricately made of wood to match and are backed by leather to protect the phone and allow them to move easily.
The folio aspect of the case is thin pieces of wood on the inside behind the phone and the whole thing is wrapped in leather. There is a pocket on the inside for a card or two and a cutout towards the top where the earpiece is located. This lets you take calls with the folio closed.
The Grovemade case can be propped up for media consumption
For watching media, the case can be propped up in the folio to watch video or take a FaceTime call.
This case is a masterclass in build quality, with much needed to be finished by hand. If you are looking for a completely unique case that is shuns any artificial materials, then Grovemade's offering is for you.

Organicore by Incipio is a newer lineup of cases that put the environment first. It is made entirely from plants with no plastic material used. Additionally, the case is 100 percent biocompostable. In suitable conditions, it can entirely break down, reducing waste in landfills. Of course the packaging is only paper as well.

The case feels very strong, it isn't as thin as other eco cases we've tested. The exterior is very smooth but has a good non-slip grip to make sure it doesn't jostle free from your hand.
We checked out the pebbled tan model, though other colors are also available.

Razer is positioning its Arctech Slim as a case designed for gamers. It claims to keep the phone cool during use as, prioritize wireless charging, and optimize network performance. We can't verify all those claims but we can talk about the general design of the case itself.
Razer Arctech has many gamer-focused benefits
It feels nice and rigid, clipping onto the phone but leaving open access to the ports and buttons. We love cases that leave these areas exposed because it is easier to hit them and they rarely are impacted during drops with corners and the screen being most vulnerable.
Inside is a material known as Thermaphene that is designed to dissipate heat to keep your phone cool. If the phone stays cool, the processor can continue to run at peak performance for longer.
Razer Arctech has many gamer-focused benefits such as vents and insulation
To further help performance are vents on the back also keep the phone cooled.
We checked out the pink version of the case with grey accents but additional colors are also available.

Casetify has teamed up with Coke for its latest lineup of cases and accessories. Casetify has AirPods cases, MacBook sleeves, and much more. Here, we are specifically looking at its cases.
Casetify Coca-Cola collection
There are several designs available, of which we tried out two. These cases are standard Casetify cases styled with the Coca Cola script.
One of our cases, a simple snap-on shell case, is red with Coca Cola down the side and the signature Casetify ring around the camera bump. The other is a clutch-style with a braided-nylon strap.
Casetify is known for solid cases and these co-branded ones are no exception. If you like Coca-Cola, then there is no better way to show if off with this line of cases.

Moment Bio Case
The Bio Case is partially made from plants and in a proper composting environment, will turn to dirt in just a year. That doesn't mean it feels cheap or loose on your phone, but rather has a great non-slip feel and textured pattern on the back.
Since the original iPhone launch, Moment has a wide variety of excellent cases available that work with or without their amazing mobile lenses. Even if you don't use Moment's glass for shooting, check out their cases because they are an excellent example of a practical iPhone case.

The Lifeproof Flip case is a heavy-duty case that is designed to keep your cards and cash where you need them. Flip open the back panel to gain access to three card slots and a cash slot. It's drop-proof for up to two meters (six feet) and is QI wireless compatible.
We love the textured fabric material on the back of this case that does a good job of separating it from other leather wallet-style variants. It isn't too thick, but the flip case does block wireless charging from functioning.
LifeProof Flip wallet case
The Lifeproof Flip case is available in Dark Knight (black/gray) and water lily (light blue/green) from LifeProof.com or Amazon for $59.99.
Lifeproof Slam
The Lifeproof slam case is a one-piece, heavy-duty, drop-proof case with a slim profile. The Slam is designed to offer maximum protection in a slim case design. It helps your phone survive drops from two meters (six feet.)
For the Slam, the clear option is great to show off the new Midnight Green color of the 11 Pro Max, without having to resort to the flimsy silicone clear ones. It also gives a nice accent on the sides.

Mujjo wallet case for iPhone 11 Pro Max
The Mujjo Full Leather Wallet case is a simple, sleek case that combines your phone and wallet together, minimizing the things you need to carry every day.
It features a pouch in the back that securely carries a couple of your most used cards. Be sure not to overstuff the pocket as leather doesn't retract once stretched out.
Compared to most wallet cases, the are slot is angled down the side rather than horizontal. The blue is really vibrant and stunning, though probably meshes better with the silver or space grey iPhone.

Otterbox Commuter case
The Otterbox Commuter is one of Otterbox's all time best sellers. It features a two piece design that is designed to protect your phone from drops. The first layer is a polycarbonate shell which deflects impacts away from your phone. The second layer, a synthetic rubber slipcover, keeps your iPhone from sliding off the table or falling out of your back pocket.
It has less bulk than the Otterbox Defender but slightly bulkier than the Symmetry series.

If you're looking for a case that combines form and function, look no further. The Burkley detachable wallet leather case gives you the luxury of leather and the convenience of a wallet case.

Pitaka MagCase for iPhone 11 Pro Max
The sole downside is that it fits so well and is so thin that it can be difficult to remove easily.
Pitaka also has the oustanding MagMount Qi car charger. It uses a similar aramid fiber surface with fast Qi charging. It perfectly connects to the magnetic plates embedded in the case. It is powered up over USB-C and clips onto almost any vent.

In person, the case looks absolutely incredible with many small details.
The buttons on the sides have a nice grip-able knurling and are made of CNC machined aluminum that are very tactile and feel as responsive as the iPhone's own buttons.

This sleeve will fit an iPhone 11 Pro Max, even with a thin case. It has an amazing clasp that requires a user to pull down to open, but to close it can hit straight-on. A second pocket up front can be used for carrying additional items such as a few cards or a small cord.

A connector on the back allows it to easily match up with any QuadLock mount, including the car mount, Qi charger, desk stand, and more.

Rather than generate a master list of cases from press releases, each case included in this roundup for the iPhone 11 Pro Max we've personally tried on our own phones.
We've chosen only our favorite cases to include, of which there happen to be many. Let's get into it. To see the cases for yourself, be sure to check out the video.
Mujjo
Slate GreenMujjo is among our favorite leather cases and it has just taken the wraps off a new color way for its two case designs.

The new slate green looks sleek and perfectly accents the midnight green iPhone 11 Pro Max.
As with its other cases, the leather feels fantastic and is very soft while the inside is lined in a luxurious microfiber.

Woolnut

The cases are made from vegetable re-tanned full-grain Scandinavian leather. It is soft and and has a lightly pebbled texture to the outside. A Woolnut ram's head logo is stamped on the bottom.
Inside is a microfiber lining to help protect the phone as well.

We've used Woolnut cases for extended periods of time and the quality leather used ages beautifully. Each case is unique and with time gets even better and worn to your use.

Lander
TorreyThe Torrey case from Lander is something quite unique. They've made a number of design choices that are unlike most cases on our list.

Instead of perfectly rounded edges of the phone, Lander has tapered the Torrey edges to be slightly narrow. This creates an illusion when holding the case that the phone is thinner than it is. It also gives a bit more grip this way and doesn't slip from your hand.
Another benefit of that tapered edge is more drop protection. This case can withstand drops from up to ten feet.
The Torrey case also integrates a lanyard mount on the back. A nylon and metal lanyard is included in the box, color-matched to the case. It loops around this mount for extra protection when exploring.
ThermoLine insulation in Torrey case
Arguably the best feature of the case is the interior ThermoLine lining. This special layer of insulation allows your iPhone to keep working at more extreme temperatures. With ThermoLine, your iPhone should continue without issue from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees. If you've ever had your phone out in the sun for an extended period and seen the temperature alert you know how much of an issue it can be.

Hex
4-in-1The Hex 4-in-1 case for iPhone 11 Pro Max is a great example of a multi-faceted case that doesn't skimp on quality.

It starts with a leather shell case. It has a TPU bumper around the outside and leather down the back. The inside is lined with microfiber for protecting the phone.
The second part of this three-part case is the folio. It wraps around the outside to add a pocket on the inside and screen protection. Here is where you can particularly feel the suppleness of the leather. The interior lining of the pocket feels so soft to the touch.

Magnets hold the shell case securely to the folio. It snaps right into place and doesn't move all unless you are trying to remove it. One aspect we don't like is the clasp. A magnetic clasp holds the folio closed but we also found those more annoying than helpful.

Part three is a magnetic wallet that can affix to the back. It too features shockingly strong magnets to keep it connected. We had no issue testing this case and having the wallet come free. It stayed put as designed. The magnets also had no ill effects on our credit cards.
This is a 4-in-1 case because you can use the shell case on its own, the shell case with the folio, the shell case just with the wallet, or the shell case with the folio and the wallet.

Grovemade
Grovemade's cases are truly like no other. Particularly because they are made entirely out of leather and wood -- nothing else. You won't find any plastic parts here.Grovemade leather and walnut folio
The frame of the case is oil-rubbed walnut that has a very natural appearance. Even the buttons are intricately made of wood to match and are backed by leather to protect the phone and allow them to move easily.
The folio aspect of the case is thin pieces of wood on the inside behind the phone and the whole thing is wrapped in leather. There is a pocket on the inside for a card or two and a cutout towards the top where the earpiece is located. This lets you take calls with the folio closed.
The Grovemade case can be propped up for media consumption
For watching media, the case can be propped up in the folio to watch video or take a FaceTime call.
This case is a masterclass in build quality, with much needed to be finished by hand. If you are looking for a completely unique case that is shuns any artificial materials, then Grovemade's offering is for you.

Incipio
OrganicoreOrganicore by Incipio is a newer lineup of cases that put the environment first. It is made entirely from plants with no plastic material used. Additionally, the case is 100 percent biocompostable. In suitable conditions, it can entirely break down, reducing waste in landfills. Of course the packaging is only paper as well.

The case feels very strong, it isn't as thin as other eco cases we've tested. The exterior is very smooth but has a good non-slip grip to make sure it doesn't jostle free from your hand.
We checked out the pebbled tan model, though other colors are also available.

Razer
Arctech SlimRazer is positioning its Arctech Slim as a case designed for gamers. It claims to keep the phone cool during use as, prioritize wireless charging, and optimize network performance. We can't verify all those claims but we can talk about the general design of the case itself.
Razer Arctech has many gamer-focused benefits
It feels nice and rigid, clipping onto the phone but leaving open access to the ports and buttons. We love cases that leave these areas exposed because it is easier to hit them and they rarely are impacted during drops with corners and the screen being most vulnerable.
Inside is a material known as Thermaphene that is designed to dissipate heat to keep your phone cool. If the phone stays cool, the processor can continue to run at peak performance for longer.

To further help performance are vents on the back also keep the phone cooled.
We checked out the pink version of the case with grey accents but additional colors are also available.

Coca ColaCasetify has teamed up with Coke for its latest lineup of cases and accessories. Casetify has AirPods cases, MacBook sleeves, and much more. Here, we are specifically looking at its cases.

There are several designs available, of which we tried out two. These cases are standard Casetify cases styled with the Coca Cola script.
One of our cases, a simple snap-on shell case, is red with Coca Cola down the side and the signature Casetify ring around the camera bump. The other is a clutch-style with a braided-nylon strap.
Casetify is known for solid cases and these co-branded ones are no exception. If you like Coca-Cola, then there is no better way to show if off with this line of cases.

Moment
Moment -- maker of excellent mobile lenses -- is still finishing up its lens-mount cases for the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but in the interim, they've launched the Bio Case.Moment Bio Case
The Bio Case is partially made from plants and in a proper composting environment, will turn to dirt in just a year. That doesn't mean it feels cheap or loose on your phone, but rather has a great non-slip feel and textured pattern on the back.
Since the original iPhone launch, Moment has a wide variety of excellent cases available that work with or without their amazing mobile lenses. Even if you don't use Moment's glass for shooting, check out their cases because they are an excellent example of a practical iPhone case.

LifeProof
Lifeproof FlipThe Lifeproof Flip case is a heavy-duty case that is designed to keep your cards and cash where you need them. Flip open the back panel to gain access to three card slots and a cash slot. It's drop-proof for up to two meters (six feet) and is QI wireless compatible.
We love the textured fabric material on the back of this case that does a good job of separating it from other leather wallet-style variants. It isn't too thick, but the flip case does block wireless charging from functioning.
LifeProof Flip wallet case
The Lifeproof Flip case is available in Dark Knight (black/gray) and water lily (light blue/green) from LifeProof.com or Amazon for $59.99.
Lifeproof Slam
The Lifeproof slam case is a one-piece, heavy-duty, drop-proof case with a slim profile. The Slam is designed to offer maximum protection in a slim case design. It helps your phone survive drops from two meters (six feet.)
For the Slam, the clear option is great to show off the new Midnight Green color of the 11 Pro Max, without having to resort to the flimsy silicone clear ones. It also gives a nice accent on the sides.
The Slam case is available from the Lifeproof website for $39.99 and comes in a wide variety of colors and designs to choose from.
Mujjo

The Mujjo Full Leather Wallet case is a simple, sleek case that combines your phone and wallet together, minimizing the things you need to carry every day.

Compared to most wallet cases, the are slot is angled down the side rather than horizontal. The blue is really vibrant and stunning, though probably meshes better with the silver or space grey iPhone.

The first layer is a polycarbonate shell which deflects impacts away from your phone. The second layer, a synthetic rubber slipcover, keeps your iPhone from sliding off the table or falling out of your back pocket.
It has less bulk than the Otterbox Defender but slightly bulkier than the Symmetry series.

It's also made of 100% aramid, a high-tech, light-weight material that offers a scratch-resistant, enhanced-grip texture, it's five times stronger than steel. It is one of the thinnest, strongest cases out there on the market and we've been fans for years.
Pitaka MagCase for iPhone 11 Pro Max
The sole downside is that it fits so well and is so thin that it can be difficult to remove easily.
Pitaka also has the oustanding MagMount Qi car charger. It uses a similar aramid fiber surface with fast Qi charging. It perfectly connects to the magnetic plates embedded in the case. It is powered up over USB-C and clips onto almost any vent.

X-Doria
We checked out two X-Doria cases this year, the Air and the Shield. Both are quite similar, but the Shield has a bit more of the metal accents down the sides than the Air.X-Doria Shield

In person, the case looks absolutely incredible with many small details.
The buttons on the sides have a nice grip-able knurling and are made of CNC machined aluminum that are very tactile and feel as responsive as the iPhone's own buttons.
There is a removable stainless steel clip that sits right above the integrated kickstand.
Inside the box Element Case also included a screwdriver and a paracord keychain which can be connected to the bottom of the case.

This sleeve will fit an iPhone 11 Pro Max, even with a thin case. It has an amazing clasp that requires a user to pull down to open, but to close it can hit straight-on. A second pocket up front can be used for carrying additional items such as a few cards or a small cord.
Around back is a belt loop which is held in place with a very strong magnet. The Waterfield Ranger Pouch retails for $89.
Executive Sleeve
The Executive Sleeve is quite thin, but too fitting an iPhone wearing a case akin to Apple's own.

There is a small loop on the back to affix a carabiner or other tether. It is great for those times you want a minimal case but at times need some added protection or storage.

Not sure of the RANVOO. It has an aluminum shell with a rubber lining. It’ll work, but I imagine it will dent.
With the 2020 models rumored to go back to an iPhone 4 type ID, look forward to a return of more bumper options.
1. Do I really need to spend more than $10-15 for a simple clear, 1.3mm thick Spiegen case? I've had one with my current phone which has survived well over 50 drops over the last two years (from 2 to 4 feet, mostly on carpeted surfaces, but a few onto hard floors and one onto concrete from about 2-3 feet) and stil works/looks like new. The phone that is, the cover is yellowing a bit... ...but I only notice when I remove it from the phone, but otherwise all is well.
So what would I be getting for $35 I've not been getting for $10....?
Any input appreciated. I'm just interested in adequate protection without compromising function and bulking up the phone.... ...no need to make a "statement" or own a brand name, unless there are actually good reasons.....
