It’s a binned parts phone. Anyone that purchased it because they wanted a small screen was merely a crossover.
A fleet phone, no R&D, used parts, old chassis, and binned modern chips to ensure years of support.

Just because some posters purchased it specifically  for the small size doesn’t mean that’s what the se was thrown on the market for, Apple was just lucky to get your crossover business.
The iPhone SE was most definitely not sold with "used parts".  Where are you pulling this junk from?

If it's iPhone 8 sized, I would presume it will continue with Touch ID, rather than Face ID. Essentially, it would be a product improved iPhone 8, just as the original SE was a product improved version of the iPhone 5S. Hopefully, it would maintain the water-resistance and wireless charging of the iPhone 8.

It isn’t an SE if it is iPhone 8 sized. That would b an iPhone 8c.
    Wrong.

The SE is about its price point. It has absolutely nothing to do with size. This is a delusion harboured by SE fanatics.
Wait, what? So all the people who say they bought it for the size are lying? Why would they do that? Sure some bought it for the price. But saying the reason people bought it "has absolutely nothing to do with size" is more that a bit of hyperbole. Calling it a delusion is just insulting.
It was never built to be a ‘small phone’ , it was a binned parts phone to sell on the cheap (use up old chassis, binned A9 processors, etc.). Whether you purchased it for its size was irrelevant to why they made it. This phone will be a phone that uses up the remaining 4.7” chassis because they will stop selling the 8.
It is market placed to be inexpensive, business fleets, etc. you don’t put new R&D into a phone that’s being slotted as such.

I had two SE phones - - one for my residence phone and one for business.  (Verizon cannot keep the last section of wire into my house.)

My residence SE "Went South," so I traded it for a new 8. It took a little while to get used to it, but now, I'm a satisfied camper. I put the 8 into an Otterbox case, and it still fits into the side pocket.

I tried to use my son's new 11pro, but having to learn all those finger swipes wasn't pleasant, as both my hands are really arthritic.

I'll keep the business SE until the battery finally quits.

Whatever this new  SE2 looks like, I just hope the form factor won't be any larger than the current 8.

Strong opinion based on a single data point.  I think more than a few people bought the SE because of its size, no matter what Apple's intention for it was.  And that's what matters.

Besides, Joswiak introduced  it with a lot of emphasis on the size, so I'm pretty sure you're flat out wrong: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UblzmyXc_Y
Well you're living proof that marketing works. Of course they say that they made this phone specifically for people who like this phone. What else are they going to say? "We made this for all you cheap assholes out there?" "We made this because the supply chain and manufacturing process for this exact combination of components is the currently the single most cost effective way for us to deliver a $399 iPhone"??

Yeah that sounds real exciting. It is 100% true, but that has nothing to do with marketing.
