Music App on Macbook saving issue

I recently updated to Catalina. My iTunes library has switched over to MUSIC without any issues which was surprising. I am very glad as I have 2.5 TB of music in my external HD.

However here is my issue. I added some new music to my library but when I exit MUSIC or shut down the Mac the music is not there when I reopen MUSIC.. In the past, when I added to the library a message would pop up stating that iTunes was saving before shutting down. It no longer does this.

My question is: Is there a way to make MUSIC save without exiting?

    Hm. Is the music local, or pulled over from Apple Music?

    External hard drive attached to airport extreme.

    I also tried just adding an mp3 from my mac hard drive and had the same thing happen.

    Yesterday I added one folder at a time and some saved and some didn't.

    I believe the issue is that I just need to wait for the MUSIC program to finish whatever it is doing with the imbedded artwork.

    I am just impatient.

    I do wish that there was a save button like most programs have.

    or when you quit the program I wish it gave you the option to save.
