If you actually read the topics, they were worthless trolls not concerning FH at all...

Concerning "new laptop at MWSF" thread....
How was this person a "worthless troll"?? They stated something, concerning Future Hardware. Whether they were lying or not, knew what they were talking about or not, it still pertained to Future Hardware. It would have made for an interesting discussion.
Concerning "insane new features..."
That was clearly a joke. He was only trying to bring some humor to the thread. Fine, you closed it, fine it wasn't realistic enough for "Future Hardware" but again, this person did NOT deserve to be called a "worthless troll".
Ok, now I AM complaining. Whats up with you??? Thats just wrong. No one deserves to be called a troll for posting discussions ON TOPIC. We're not talking about MadTOOL or whoever that guy was. Geez.
Now you're threatening to close the thread on Angelina Jolie's lips?? WHY!? Too racey? It's Apple Outsider, I don't think that should be shut down. If someone said something inappropriate (dick maybe?) then maybe you should warn then against that language and not threaten to shut down the whole thread.
Please don't accuse me of not reading threads that I comment on, I wouldn't do that.
I did not close this thread. General principle around here states that when a topic which is very vague, and has no information or discussion other than "You heard it here first " and it's someone's first post, it's generally nothing of substance. Scanning across FH, there are at least 5 other threads this little tidbit could have been posted in. Also, it seemed clear enough to other people that this was a troll to call for the locking of the thread- note the 2nd post therein.
2. "Insane new features" - The post is what is known as a troll, and it gave no value to the discussion. Therefore, I labeled the post, not the person, as a "worthless troll." Maybe you don't frequent any other forums, but note: this happens everywhere, and is common terminology. ArsTechnica, MacNN, etc.
3. The Angelina Jolie Lips thread was getting racy. When I said 'poised to lock' or whatever, it was my way of saying "clean it up a little guys." Dick Sucking Lips and all is funny, but we don't need to draw it out. Remember also that there are some *very* young children on this board, and that sort of thing is not really appropriate for them. I could have locked it, but I didn't. Not worth complaining about.
4. You think we're too strict? Go anywhere else. Anywhere (that doesn't suck) has an equally strict, if not stricter, rules about off topic posts.
Actually I do frequent a lot of other boards and the term "troll" is almost always meant to signify a person, not a message.
I understand your reasoning for closing the threads a little better now, thanks for clearing that up.
However, I totally disagree with you telling the Jolie forum to be cleaned up when you yourself posted a smiley that was clearly performing a sex act in another thread!! That is out right contradiction.
I do find both discussions and posts really funny and I don't believe in censorship of any sort. I do agree that we have to be careful sometimes because we don't know what age some of the readers/posters are.
So I think you should admit that your smiley was inappropriate as well.
